Nexon Games has announced the dates for The First Descendant beta. If you didn't know, it's an upcoming free-to-play third-person looter-shooter from a Korean Studio called Nexon Games.
The First Descendant features photo-realistic Unreal Engine 5 visuals, co-op gameplay, flashy long-scale battles with alien enemies, multiple playable characters, in-depth buildcrafting, and more. Oh, and there's a grappling hook that you can use to swing around and traverse its gigantic sci-fi world.
First announced at the extended Xbox Games Showcase, Nexon Games has since delayed the cross-platform open beta by four weeks. Nexon Games has revealed the First Descendant console graphics modes for all existing platforms ahead of the open beta.

Nexon Games has revealed the content for the upcoming open beta of The First Descendant. Expect to try 11 standard characters, 2 ultimate characters, 50+ weapons, 300+ game modules, and 3 unique battlefields.
In a PlayStation blog post, The First Descendant's producer, Beomjun Lee, has confirmed that the open beta will feature 13 playable characters, 9 raids, and several missions.
The First Descendant Open Beta Start Time
The First Descendant Open Beta begins on 19 September 2023 at 11.59 PM PDT and concludes on 25 September 2023 at 11.59 PM PDT. It will be an open beta with cross-play enabled, which means, if you play on PC, you can invite your friends on PlayStation or Xbox to play alongside you, and vice versa.
How to Register for the First Descendant Open Beta
The upcoming beta was previously announced to be a closed beta, where you had to register at the game's official website. However, the studio confirmed in its latest dev talk that it will now be an open beta instead. It means, you don't have to register, and anyone can access the beta once it drops.
If you had previously pre-registered for the beta, you will get Trial Vouchers to get three full body suits to try out for three Descendants during the upcoming beta.

The First Descendant Beta Rewards
Participating in The First Descendant open beta will get you a limited edition Emote at launch. If you reach Descendant level 20 during the beta, you will also get one of the three Backpack decoration items at launch. You can vote for which one of the Backpacks you would like to see in the game on the Discord dev note channel.
In addition to these, the studio has confirmed there would be more rewards to earn during the open beta.
All Weapons in The First Descendant Beta
The First Descendant open beta will feature 11 Ultimate weapons for you to use. If you didn't know, Ultimate weapons come with unique perks that standard weapons don't have. The two Ultimate weapons confirmed for the beta are Last Dagger (Handgun) and Smithereens (Shotgun).
