While progressing your adventure in Fire Emblem Engage, you may have noticed a few optional battles pop up on your World Map. Unlike Paralogues which can sometimes contain rare items and even recruitable characters, Skirmishes are mainly used for additional training. Skirmishes can pop up anywhere on the world map, and if you are interested in learning more about how they work, we have the answers you need.
This article will cover everything you need to know about Skirmishes in Fire Emblem Engage, including what they are, how often they spawn, and what kinds of rewards you can get for completing them.
How Skirmishes Work In Fire Emblem Engage
As mentioned, Skirmishes in Fire Emblem Engage are optional battles you can use to grind XP. They can spawn anywhere on the map and can have a variety of different enemies for you to face off against. Skirmishes can be distinguished by their unique icon on the world map. Although seemingly random, this icon will give you an idea of what enemies you can expect from this particular Skirmish. For example, if the icon for a particular Skirmish shows an Archer, you can expect to encounter a ton of Arches in this fight and may want to avoid bringing any flying units.
Skirmishes show up randomly after completing a battle and are infinite. Meaning there will always be a way for you to grind some additional XP if you are struggling against a main story mission. Furthermore, certain Skirmishes containing Gold and SIlver corrupted will provide players with a ton of additional money if they are completed successfully. You can recognize which Skirmishes will have these enemies after selecting the mission on the world map (look out for the "Gold Corrupted!" tag).
By donating to certain nations, the skirmishes that appear in these sections will also provide more fruitful rewards. Skirmishes pop up fairly regularly, but there is no way to choose where or when they spawn. If you find yourself running out of Skirmishes and need to farm some more, simply head to the Home Screen on your Switch, navigate to the settings tab, advance the date one day ahead, and reload into the game. If done correctly, you will have tricked the game into thinking 24 hours have progressed and new Skirmishes should start spawning.
And that's everything you need to know about how Skirmishes work in Fire Emblem Engage.
