How To Unlock Red Mage Job In FFXIV

In FFXIV it's possible to play every single Job on one character. You can load into a raid as a DPS, then fight some world bosses as a tank before helping out in a Dungeon Roulette as a healer. 

With each new expansion, the developers of FFXIV have been good at introducing new Jobs to spice things up. But these Jobs often require players to meet certain criteria before they can be unlocked. One of these Jobs is the Red Mage. So, if you are curious about how to unlock the Red Mage, this article will guide you through everything you need to do to start playing this Job. 

How To Unlock Red Mage In FFXIV

To unlock Red Mage, players must first have access to the Stormblood expansion, as this Job is exclusive to this expansion. Additionally, players must have a Disciple of War or a Disciple of Magic at level 60 or above. 

Once both of these criteria have been met, players will need to head to the Steps of Thal in Ul'Dah. There, speak with the Distraught Lass (X:14, Y:11.7), who will provide you with the Red Mage Job acquisition quest. Simply complete this quest and you will be able to start playing as a Red Mage. 

Red Mages, despite being a Magical Ranged DPS, combine both casting spells with dealing melee damage. Red Mages will build resources from a distance before going in to deal huge damage to enemy targets.
