How To Start New Main Scenario Quests In FFXIV Patch 6.55

If you've hit every Main Scenario beat that Final Fantasy XIV has to offer, then you're one of the many who are very excited when new content hits the servers. And thanks to regular patches, fans rarely go without for long. 

With the release of Patch 6.55 on January 16, 2024, there are a number of new Main Scenario Quests to play through, among a wide variety of other content. As we bide our time before Dawntrail, it's time to jump into these brand new quests. But where can you pick them up?

Where To Start New Main Scenario Quests In Final Fantasy XIV Patch 6.55

To start the new Main Scenario Quests added in Patch 6.55, you'll be looking for the quest starter called "When One Door Closes..." This can be picked up in Radz-at-Han (X:4.4 Y:9.8) from the NPC called Varshahn.

This quest will lead players onto two more Main Scenario Quests, which will be unlocked once you've completed the first, "When One Door Closes..." As part of this quest line, players will be introduced to a female Hrothgar, ahead of the race's inclusion as a playable race with the launch of Dawntrail. 

FFXIV Patch 6.55 MSQ Requirements

To be able to start "When One Door Closes..." you'll need to ensure your character meets the following requirements:

• Have a Disciple of War or Magic Job at level 90
• Have first completed the Main Scenario Quest "Growing Light." This will require you to have finished the Endwalker expansion. 

Final Fantasy XIV is set to receive its next expansion, Dawntrail, in Summer 2024. This new DLC will introduce a new playable race, alongside two new Job classes: Viper and Pictomancer.
