In a surprising move, Square Enix has announced that Final Fantasy XIV will be coming to mobile, giving players the chance to experience the popular MMORPG from the palm of their hand. While we don't have a release date for the game just yet, we know that we'll be starting from the beginning, in A Realm Reborn.
In a recent blog post, Square Enix confirmed that nine Jobs will be available at launch, along with the Armoury system that allows players to switch Jobs at will just as they would in the main game.
Which Jobs Are Playable in FFXIV Mobile?
At the time of writing, Square Enix has yet to confirm exactly which Jobs will be available at launch in Final Fantasy XIV Mobile. However, given that we likely won't have any expansions available immediately, we can assume these Jobs will be those found in the base game:
- Paladin
- Warrior
- Dragoon
- Monk
- Bard
- Black Mage
- Summoner
- Scholar
- White Mage
For those new to Final Fantasy XIV, these nine Jobs stem from base Classes which evolve into the above Jobs after reaching Level 30. For example, Gladiator becomes Paladin, while Lancer becomes Dragoon.
On top of the combat Jobs, FFXIV Mobile will also have 11 crafting and gathering classes to level:
- Carpenter
- Blacksmith
- Armorer
- Goldsmith
- Leatherworker
- Weaver
- Alchemist
- Culinarian
- Miner
- Botanist
- Fisher
Will More Jobs be Added to FFXIV Mobile in Expansions?
While unconfirmed for the time being, it's likely that more Jobs will be made available should Square Enix add the FFXIV expansions to Mobile. This means Jobs found in Heavensward (such as the Dark Knight, Machinist, Astrologian) or Stormblood (Samurai, Red Mage) and later expansions will be made available over time.
