In The Elder Scrolls Online (ESO) there are a huge variety of ways to customize your playthrough. Like most MMORPGs, players choose a Class and Race during character creation. You could be a Dark Elf Nightblade, a Khajiit Warden, or a High Elf Necromancer. The choice is yours. But there are also Factions and Skill Lines to advance through, which players can pick up all over the world of Tamriel.
One such Skill Line is Vampirism, which sees your character turn into a vampire and gain a unique set of skills. If you're just going through the motions of ESO, you might not even be aware that Vampirism is an option. In fact, players can turn themselves into two supernatural beings: a vampire or a werewolf.
Much like the Werewolf Skill Line, Vampirism comes with various perks and disadvantages. Below, we're go over all the skills, perks, and disadvantages that come with being a vampire, as well as how to turn into one.
How To Become A Vampire In ESO
In ESO, there are currently three ways to become a vampire, or contract the Noxiphilic Sanguivoria disease. Each way is different and requires a varying degree of effort from players.
Bite From Another Player
This method isn't quite as straightfoward as having another player run up and attack you. First, players who are already a vampire must have the Blood Ritual ability unlocked. From here, they must take the participating player to one of three ritual sites. There's one in Reaper's March, Bangkorai, and The Rift.
Special Bloodfiends
Vampirism can also be contracted by fighting special Bloodfiends, found in either Reaper's March, Bangkorai or The Rift. These special Bloodfiends only appear at night, and very rarely. You don't need to kill the Bloodfiend, as you can contract the disease then run away, leaving the Bloodfiend to infect other players should they wish.
Purchasing Via The Crown Store
The third way, and arguably the most straightforward, is by purchasing the "Curse of Vampirism" from the Crown Store for 1,500 Crowns. With this route, the entire Skill Line is unlocked immediately. However, playes will need to complete the quest Scion of the Blood Matron to commit to vampirism.

Experience that you've earned while a vampire will remain, meaning you can become a vampire again later and keep your progression.
