The Arcanist Healer possesses outstanding healing capabilities, can deal substantial amounts of damage, and has excellent endurance making it an effective healer for PvE. In becoming an effective Arcanist Healer, we’ll focus on the skills, passives, weapons, gear, and more to help create a flexible yet well-rounded Arcanist Healer build in ESO: Necrom.
ESO: Necrom: Skill And Passive Setup For The Arcanist Healer Build
One of the benefits of the Arcanist Healer builds is its flexibility to rotate skills to suit the environment and group playstyle. Additionally, specific skills are more effective depending on the weapon used when in combat, which in this case is the Restoration Staff in the Main hand. We’ll highlight the best skill and passives setup with the assigned weapon below:
Restoration Staff Skill Setup (Main):
- Slot 1: Chakram of Destiny (Curative Runeforms)
- Slot 2: Curative Surge (Curative Runeforms)
- Slot 3: Reconstructive Domain (Curative Runeforms)
- Slot 4: Energy Orb (Undaunted)
- Slot 5: Healing Springs (Restoration Staff)
- Ultimate: Glyphs of the Tides (Curative Runeforms)
Passive Abilities Setup:
- Herald of the Tome: Fated Fortune and Harnessed Quintessence

ESO: Necrom: Best Arcanist Weapon And Gear
As indicated in the skill setup, the Restoration Staff is the preferred weapon assigned to your Main hand for this specific build. More specifically, the Vanus’ Restoration Staff which is part of the Wisdom of Vanus Set acquired in Summerset to gain the stacked buffs with each piece equipped.
As the Widom of Vanus is a Light Armor set and we want to gain the buffs from this unique armor set, we’ll be equipping the waist, ring, and necklace pieces to acquire the 10% Max Magicka buff from four equipped pieces. Additionally, you can add any ring in the second slot that provides Magicka Recovery along with items from the Sanctuary set to gain the healing buff for five pieces equipped.
These Sanctuary set items needed for this build include the Hat of Sanctuary, Jerkin of Sanctuary, Gloves of Sanctuary, Breeches of Sanctuary, and the Shoes of Sanctuary. The alternatives are using items from the Perfected Roaring Opportunist, Jorvuld’s Guidance, or Symphony of Blades in place of the Sanctuary set, and any Medium Armor Shoulder piece that gives a healing buff.
The only issue with getting either the Perfected Roaring Opportunist, Jorvuld’s Guidance, or Symphony of Blades set is that you will need specific DLC content to access the dungeons to acquire them. Whereas the Sanctuary set can be collected from enemy drops from the Banished Cells dungeon, which is part of the base game.
ESO: Necrom: Arcanist Healer Champion Points
Champion Points are a unique mechanic which unlocks at Level 50 or Veteran Rank to earn additional perks or bonuses for your character. Once unlocked, all XP earned will contribute to the Champion Points to unlock new items such as cosmetics and perks, which the latter depends on which of the three constellations you selected: Craft, Fitness, or Warfare.
For the Arcanist Healer build, specifically, we advise opting for the Warfare constellation, which grants you perks relating to damage dealing. Additionally, start by adding points to unlock the Precision perk, which helps you unlock the Fighting Finesse perk, which increases your crit Healing.
You will want to access the Mastered Curation sub-constellation to get the Blessed perk for a healing bonus to unlock its adjacent perks. We’ll also include a few perks from the Fitness constellation, which grant us armor, health, and recovery buffs.
Lastly, you can opt to unlock perks from the Craft constellation, although they may not be as valuable; however, a few perks can increase movement speed, item rarity in chests, duration of food and drink consumed, and potions.
