FromSoftware is arguably one of the most influential game developers of our era, with a portfolio of classics that culminated in Elden Ring and its highly praised DLC. Many players are eagerly anticipating what Miyazaki and his team will create next. Fortunately, we have some reassurance, as the publisher has quietly confirmed that the next major Souls game is in development.
FromSoftware Publisher Confirms New Games Are on the Way
As recently reported via Gamewatch, and translated via Automaton, Kadokawa Corporation, FromSoftware's parent company, held an investor call confirming that they are currently working on 26 games. According to the company, 20 of these are for console (and likely PC), while the remaining six are mobile titles.

Now, it’s important to note that Kadokawa oversees a range of titles across various developers, not just FromSoftware, so it’s unclear if any of these projects are the next big Souls game. Realistically, however, given that FromSoftware is among Kadokawa's most profitable assets, it's quite reasonable to expect that one of these games could be FromSoftware's next major release.
There’s no concrete information yet on what this next game might be. However, based on Miyazaki's comments indicating that Elden Ring and its DLC mark the end of the Lands Between storyline, along with his interest in starting a new project, it's highly likely the next Souls game will introduce something entirely fresh.
For now, we'll just have to bide our time with convergence mods for Elden Ring and other Souls titles, or perhaps start a new character, as we await FromSoftware's next big release.
