EA Sports College Football 25 Release Date

After years of disputes over licensing and player compensation, the dust seems to be settling as EA Sports College Football 25 draws near. Originally announced by EA Sports in early 2021, this revamped version of the franchise that started as Bill Walsh College Football in 1993 will be dropping their past NCAA branding and kicking off a new era.

In the buildup, they've consistently reiterated that the EA Sports College Football release date window is Summer 2024. While the exact date hasn't been confirmed by EA just yet, multiple reports are now coming in that the EA Sports College Football release date will be July 19, 2024. The news started to filter out on April 8 with one report from Dov Kleiman indicating this date, and David Hookstead of OutKick reported a PlayStation rep confirmed the same date.

We'd been predicting an EA Sports College Football 25 release date just one week prior to that, so things still look pretty on track for this launch. They promised additional news about the game would be released in May, and that tracks as EA Sports usually uses a two month pre-launch cycle to build anticipation for each game release. This also puts the game out early enough to avoid clashing with the potential Madden 25 release date.

As for the actual gameplay and game modes, very few details have been revealed. However, we do know that Dynasty Mode and Road to Glory were confirmed early on and should anchor the franchise reboot.

Will real NCAA players be in EA Sports College Football 25?

One of the biggest questions about EA Sports College Football 25 is how player likenesses and names will be handled. In the past, NCAA Football games omitted player likenesses and names entirely due to the rules of that era, but times have changed and players are now allowed to monetize their name and likeness while still in college. 

Early reports indicated that EA Sports had developed a large cash pool for athletes with the offer of paying out $500 per player if they choose to be included in the title. That led to a lawsuit over the inability of players to negotiate that fee, but it has since been settled.
