Dungeons Of Hinterberg Dev Announced Free Episode: Renaud DLC Launching Alongside PlayStation Release

Following the release of the puzzle action-adventure game Dungeons of Hinterberg, developer Microbird has provided plenty of support and more snowy adventures on the famed Austrian Alps. Since its release, the developer has added various Quality-of-Life updates, new gameplay features, new cosmetics, and more to prolong our stay in Hinterberg.

The game's first major content update, the Slay in Style update, was released last September, bringing new fashionable cosmetics, new Photo Mode options, and bug fixes to ensure they don't get snowed in during their time in Hinterberg. The game's second content update was revealed and is arriving soon to the game, in which takes a step back by peering into the past of one particular character in-game.

Players have been asking for "more Hinterberg," and developer Microbird has responded as a new content update will be coming soon to the puzzle action-adventure game. Episode: Renaud was announced on the developer's social media accounts on 11th March 2025, in which this new content update further expands the game's main storyline with brand new content.

This content update adds seven brand-new "compact but challenging rifts," which, according to the developer, every rift features unique and dynamic mechanics that incorporate the game's distinctive combat and puzzle-solving systems. But the true highlight of this content update, as alluded to in its update's title, is centered around one of four slayers, Renaud, who visited Hinterberg, which players encountered during winter-filled experiences.

The Episode: Renaud content update adds a prequel story associated with a titular character, which a new mission can be explored, tying into the protagonist's adventures in the base game. Luckily for players, they won't have to wait much longer for this prequel chapter as the Episode: Renaud content update launches for free on Xbox Series X|S consoles and PC via Steam on 13th March 2025, which is the same day as the game's PlayStation release and likewise, the update will also be available to PS owners.
