So in this guide, we're going to show you how to farm Khanduran Runes in Diablo 3 Season 28. We'll also give you tips on how they're used and the gear you can create once you have an abundance of them.
Update on 2 May 2023: We've updated this article to reflect the latest information about the Khanduran Rune in Diablo 3 Season 28, and how to get them quickly.
What is Khanduran Rune in Diablo 3 Season 28?
The Khanduran Rune was added to Diablo 3 in the recent 2.3.0 patch and can only be used in tandem with Kanais Cube to create various legendary items and set items. If you don't have it yet, then consider checking out our guide on how to get Kanai's Cube in Diablo 3.
Khanduran Rune can be obtained from Horadric Caches which are given to you by Tyrael for completing Act I bounties in adventure mode. These bounties can be found on the bounty board in Westmarch inside the Palace Courtyard. There are 12 bounties per day and players can have up to 4 of these bounties active at once.
How To Farm Khanduran Rune in Diablo 3 Season 28
Since the Khanduran Rune can only obtain through these bounties, the best way to farm for this resource would be to play through the Act I bounties and farm the rewards each time you play it. This means you can actively play through four bounties per day and stand a chance of getting a Khanduran Rune each time you do, with a minimum of getting one per day, or four if you're lucky.
Additionally, you can also play through the bounties as a group of players, each farming for a specific bounty chest which can reward you with more Khanduran Runes per play through of the bounty and allow you to farm for additional rare items as you do. This is arguably the best way to farm for the runes as each player can do four bounties at a time, pushing your chances up drastically, but you can run the bounties solo if you wish.
What is the Khanduran Rune used for
Once you have enough Khanduran Runes, there are two main uses for them in Diablo 3. The first of these uses is to unlock specific Seals in the Altar of Rites; more specifically, it's used to unlock the 5th, 11th, and 20th Seals, which grants you some awesome rewards as shown here. Secondly, you can use them to create Legendary versions of gear items in the game, which can have affixes that normally are not allowed on that type of item, for example, Increased Movement Speed on Chest Armor and many more useful buffs you'll need in Diablo 3 Season 28.
