How to complete Rising Tensions quest Destiny 2

The Rising Tensions quest is an introductory step to Season of the Risen in Destiny 2.
How to complete Rising Tensions quest Destiny 2

The Witch Queen DLC isn't the only thing that debuted this past 22nd February in Destiny 2, with Season of the Risen also kicking off.

Season 16 is the beginning of Year 5 in Bungie's action MMO. While it's intrinsically tied to The Witch Queen in terms of story, you don't need the expansion to get everything that Season of the Risen offers (for the most part), simply buy the Season Pass and you'll be good to go.

One of the quests in Season of the Risen, Rising Tensions, features a new weapon that players are looking to get their hands on -- the Recurrent Impact Machine Gun.

Let's take a look at how to complete Rising Tensions and get the Recurrent Impact in Destiny 2.

How To Finish Rising Tensions Quest

The quest is a simple introductory set of missions to Season of the Risen, so it's not particularly hard. Out of its seven steps, you'll spend the majority receiving briefings from different characters.

From a lore standpoint, it details the first discussions between the Vanguard, namely Zavala and Lord Saladin, who are forced into an uneasy alliance with Caiatl and her Cabal army to help stop the Lucent Hive on Earth.

These are the steps you need to follow:

Complete The Investigation mission

This is the second mission of The Witch Queen campaign. If you don't own the expansion, fret not, the first couple of missions are free for all players to try out.

Talk to Fynch in the Throne World

Once you finish the mission go meet Fynch in the Throne World. If you own The Witch Queen, he'll give you a couple of quests, if not, then just keep focusing on Rising Tensions.

Meet with the Vanguard in the Tower

Head back to the Tower and reach the Hangar section where characters like Amanda Holliday and Saint-14 usually hang out. A cutscene will play out once you get there.

Go to the H.E.L.M and listen to Caiatl's briefing

Check your directory and go to the H.E.L.M, a nifty new section in the Tower introduced with Beyond Light, locate the briefing table and listen to Empress Caiatl's message.

Go to the H.E.L.M and listen to Lord Saladin's briefing

Remember when we told you this was an easy quest? Well, stay in the H.E.L.M and at the exact same spot, listen to Saladin's anxious message following Caiatl's.

Complete the PsiOps Battleground: EDZ activity

Finally some action! Go ahead and complete the seasonal activity, PsiOps Battleground, currently active on the European Dead Zone.

Head back to the H.E.L.M and listen to Saladin again

Once you finish the activity, Lord Saladin will be waiting for you back at the H.E.L.M with one more message, but more importantly, the Recurrent Impact Machine Gun as a reward.

All in all, between the story missions and seasonal activity, it should take you about a couple of hours max to wrap up this quest.
