Developer Bungie held a livestream recently to discuss and unpack the incoming content arriving to their online first-person shooter Destiny 2. The contents of the livestream unpacked the latest Heresy episode, which comes to consoles and PC on 4th February 2025, in which the developer revealed gameplay footage on what fellow Guardians can anticipate in the forthcoming episode.
With the curtain call impending on "the Light and Darkness Saga" through the final episode while Guardians can unravel these "new narrative twists," a new crossover collaboration with one of entertainment's most recognizable IPs. So Guardians, are you ready to explore the Galaxy Far, Far Away?!
The Destiny 2: Heresy developer livestream was held across their Twitch and YouTube channels on 28th January 2025 at 10 am PT / 1 pm ET / 6 pm UTC, during which Bungie explored key content that Guardians can prepare themselves for which the final episode drops on 4th February 2025. Aside from continuing the ongoing storyline, packed with "new narrative twists," there will be plenty of updates and new gear items to look forward to, including pieces from a crossover collaboration with Lucasfilm's Star Wars IP.
"Today’s livestream also introduced the newly announced collaboration between Bungie and Lucasfilm Games to bring Star Wars-inspired gear and accessories to Destiny 2. Available with the launch of Heresy are three new armor ornaments (one per Guardian class), each inspired by the soldiers of the Galactic Empire, in addition to a number of Star Wars-inspired accessories," Bungie's Editorial Lead Brian Ekberg stated for the PlayStation Blog.
These new cosmetics turn Guardians into literal Stormtroopers within the world of Destiny, and based on the promotional image supplied that features a TIE Bomber, it's unclear if this will be functional in-game, but only time will tell when the Heresy episode launches next month. It's stated that there will be themed accessories added with this crossover, so maybe the TIE Bomber is such an accessory that we'll have to wait until 4th February 2025.
