Destiny 2's core gameplay involves hunting for better gear, upgrading those gear, and creating the perfect build.
Masterwork armor is a maxed-out modified version of a gear that offers bonus traits. Masterwork gear is especially essential for end-game activities like Dungeons or Raids. Bungie tends to tweak how upgrades work, and as such, here's our guide explaining how to Masterwork armor in Destiny 2 in 2023.
Destiny 2 Masterwork Armor Explained
To masterwork an armor piece in Destiny 2, you will need a lot of different resources. Up to level 5, you will need Glimmer and Legendary Engrams, both of which are easy to farm. Glimmer is the game's base currency which you can get through pretty much any activity.
Upon reaching level 6, you will need Enhancement Cores in addition to Glimmer and Legendary Engrams. Thankfully, farming Enhancement Cores is also easy, and you can get a handful by completing Banshee's bounties.
Leveling up your Legendary and Exotic armor pieces over level 7 is a whole other ordeal and will require plenty of valuable resources. To level up your Exotic armor to 8 or 9, you will need 3 Enhancement Prisms, 4 Legendary Shards, and 4,000 Glimmer. On the other hand, to level up your Legendary armor to 8 or 9, you will need 2 Enhancement Prisms, 4 Legendary Shards, and 3,000 Glimmer.
You can get Enhancement Prisms by completing Nightfall Strikes at higher difficulties or purchasing them from Master Rahool in the Tower. An Enhancement Prism costs 10 Enhancement Core and 10,000 Glimmer.
To masterwork your Exotic armor in Destiny 2, you will need 3 Ascendant Shard, 6 Legendary Shards, and 5,000 Glimmer. On the other hand, to masterwork your Legendary armor, you will need 1 Ascendant Shard, 5 Legendary Shards, and 4,000 Glimmer.
You can get Ascendant Shard by completing Nightfall Strikes at the highest difficulty or through Trials of Osiris. However, the best way to score Ascendant Shard every season is through the battle pass.
That concludes our guide on how to masterwork armor in Destiny 2.
