Destiny 2 Season 15 is right around the corner, officially named Season of the Lost, one that initially was planned to release alongside The Witch Queen expansion announced back in 2020.
Sadly, delays to The Witch Queen, which will now release early in 2022 have put Season of the Lost in a weird place, with Bungie pivoting, trying to sustain Season 15 with enough content to keep a healthy and happy player base.
Due to this, the developers have announced a special showcase to lay out a complete roadmap for the future of Destiny 2 leading up to The Witch Queen. Here's everything you need to know about it.
Destiny 2 August 2021 Showcase - Start time
The upcoming Destiny 2 showcase will kick off with its preshow this 24th August at 8 am PDT/4 pm GMT, with the main show starting an hour later at 9 am PDT/5 pm GMT.
Destiny 2 August 2021 Showcase - What to expect
Without going into spoiler territory, the showcase will focus primarily on The Witch Queen expansion, giving us our first official look at what it means for the future of Destiny 2 in terms of story, but more importantly, gameplay.
Destiny 2 The Witch Queen spoilers
Before reading, we have to warn you, a huge SPOILER WARNING is in effect. Having said this, as reliable as the leaks might look (Bungie has issued copyright claims against them), always take them with a grain of salt.
SPOILERS START
Recent leaks have mentioned that Destiny 2 has some neat content short-term-wise, with the Halo crossover all but confirmed to take place during Q4 2021, meaning it can happen mid-Season of the Lost or possibly at some point during Season 16 before 2022.
This crossover will see weapons, secret missions, and armour, all Halo-themed, finally make their way into Bungie's looter shooter to celebrate the company's 30th anniversary.
As for The Witch Queen expansion, storywise, players may be happy to hear that the expansion will feature “new weapon archetypes and weapon crafting” with “class defining weapons," meaning, Warlocks, Hunters, and Titans will be getting exclusive weaponry.
Before we end the spoiler section, yes, allegedly according to a second leak, Savathun has been disguised as Osiris all along, with the legendary Warlock we've interacted with the past few seasons being the Witch Queen herself.
