Destiny 2 fans are getting ready to say goodbye to Season 12, the first of the game's Year 4 of content, with Season 13, officially called Season of the Chosen, right around the corner.
We've detailed in a previous article the schedule, roadmap, and the contents you can expect with the season pass. Now, let's take a more in-depth look at all the new activities, returning content, and everything else that's about to debut with Season of the Chosen.
Destiny 2 Season of the Chosen - Story content
Like previous seasons, Season of the Chosen will feature a self-contained story that will tie-in with Destiny 2's overarching story that's mostly seen through big expansions such as Beyond Light.
The New Empress
This story is a direct aftermath of Beyond Light and Season of the Hunt, with Cabal forces trying to unite their strength with Guardians due to Pyramids and Xivu Arath proving to be an inconvenience for them.
Empress Caiatl will serve as the main antagonist. Take a look at the trailer down below.

It seems the Tower will receive a quick update of sorts, as the H.E.L.M facility will make its debut.
The official Bungie description claims that the "War Table has been set," explaining that this is a place where you can "meet with Zavala, acquire the Hammer of Proving, and orchestrate an honorable victory."
This leads us directly to...

The seasonal activity, which is exclusive to season pass holders, will see Guardians of the Light fend off Cabal opposition, as a result of "the failed treaty" between both factions.
"In this three-player matchmade activity, Guardians will engage in ritual combat against Caiatl’s chosen warriors," Bungie says.
Destiny 2 Season of the Chosen - Vanguard Strikes
For Season of the Chosen, two old strikes make their return, free for all players to grind. These are:
- Devil's Lair
- Fallen SA.B.E.R
On top of this, a brand-new strike, Proving Grounds, will become available to season pass holders seven days before all players can enjoy it.

So far, Bungie has confirmed that a new exotic bow will be up for grabs, Ticuu's Divination. Players that get their hands on the season pass get it for free immediately, however, the weapon will be available for everyone regardless.
If you're a season pass holder, Bungie has two exotic quests waiting for you down the line, one for a weapon and another one for a catalyst.
So there you have it! Be sure to keep you eyes peeled as we'll be covering all things Season of the Chosen once it rolls around.
