The second week of Season of the Haunted continues with the launch of a revamped Iron Banner held by Bracus Forge, previously known as Lord Saladin. If you are looking to complete the Forging Iron quest in Destiny 2, we've got you covered.
Unlike previous seasons, Iron Banner will become a more exclusive affair in terms of dates, as it'll only be available for two weeks throughout Season of the Haunted. To compensate, Power Level advantages have been disabled so more Guardians get a chance to jump in.
Once you travel to the Tower you'll see Bracus Forge's Iron Banner set up right in the middle of the courtyard ditching his previous spot above Banshee-44. Talking to the Iron Lord will grant you a new introductory quest, Forging Iron.
Let's walk you through all the steps you need to complete to get the Forging Iron quest done in Destiny 2.
Forging Iron Destiny 2 quest - All steps
There are a total of six steps in the Forging Iron quest. These are relatively simple ones, however, they can feel grindy or annoying if you're not a PvP player.
Step 1 - Complete a match in Iron Banner
Very self-explanatory, simply go to the directory and select Iron Banner from the Crucible tab. The best part about this step is you don't even have to win the match!
Step 2 - Complete a daily challenge
Daily challenges are new to Iron Banner for Season of the Haunted. During each week IB is around the Tower four daily challenges will be available during the first days of the event.
- Destiny 2 Duality Dungeon - All Weapons And How To Get
- All Trials of Osiris, Iron Banner, and Nightfall weapons leaving Destiny 2
- Destiny 2 Austringer Hand Cannon - How To Get And God Roll
- Destiny 2 Duality Dungeon - All Armor And How To Get
Completing them will grant you Pinnacle Gear plus a boost to your Iron Banner Rank points gain. The first daily challenge of the four consists of playing three Iron Banner matches with a Solar or Void subclass equipped.
Step 3 - Earn Iron Banner Rank points
IB rank points are given for playing matches but there are ways to improve your rate. Do the following things to multiply how many points you earn per match:
- Complete Challenges
- Equip Iron Banner gear
- Equip an Iron Banner Emblem
You'll need to accrue 300 Iron Banner Rank points to proceed to the next quest step.
Step 4 - Collect an Iron Banner engram from Bracus Forge
Bracus Forge or Lord Saladin, however you want to call him, will be waiting for you with an Iron Banner engram as a reward for collecting 300 IB Rank points.
You can focus this engram and get any piece of armour or Iron Banner weapon you wish to have, as long as you've acquired it beforehand. Focusing has a somewhat steep cost so if you don't want to do it, you can always let Rahool do it for free.
Focusing IB engrams cost:
- 20k Glimmer
- 100 Legendary Shards
Step 5 - Talk to Bracus Forge/Lord Saladin
Simply speak with the Iron Lord once more and the quest shall be done! As you can see, it's not a particularly hard quest but we recommend you do it if you're new to Iron Banner festivities.
