Destiny 2: The Final Shape May Feature New Paul McCartney Song

Destiny 2: The Final Shape is the next expansion for the FPS, and it seems to have a famous artist.
Destiny 2: The Final Shape May Feature New Paul McCartney Song

Sir Paul McCartney will seemingly be returning to Destiny for Destiny 2: The Final Shape.

Over on Instagram, Ella Feingold (an orchestrator at Bungie) posted images of a live recording session for what appeared to be The Final Shape. One of these images contained the name 'P. McCartney', with Feingold captioning it

"Yeah, that P. McCartney. That's all I can say for now."

Back in the first Destiny, McCartney wrote a song titled 'Hope for the Future' which became a beloved song in the Destiny community. What's actually more curious about this leak is that Martin O'Donnell is also listed on one of the images, and Martin O'Donnell left Bungie on extremely bad terms back in 2014.

O'Donnell sued Bungie for unpaid wages and stock ownership, successfully, and as far as we currently know hasn't had any contact or communication with Bungie since then. It's very much possible that this is simply a track using his melodies, but if Bungie has buried the hatchet with O'Donnell it'll be extremely exciting news for fans of the series and fans of Bungie who have been with the company ever since the first Halo released.

Destiny 2: The Final Shape is currently scheduled to launch at some point in 2024, which means we may hear more about the expansion at the end of this year.
