Bungie has officially revealed when we can expect some of the biggest updates Destiny 2 fans have been waiting on for months.

Bungie disappointed many with announcment that Destiny 2's The Witch Queen expansion had been delayed, however, it wasn't all bad, as they have now confirmed when we can expect crossplay between consoles and PC, as well as the transmog system.

Both crossplay and transmoging were announced during the reveal of Destiny 2's future, which included three-yearly expansions, content vaulting, and many more systems, with fans wondering when we would get some sort of follow-up to these expected functions.

Bungie has confirmed that crossplay will be a feature coming with Season 15. With Destiny 2 currently in Season 13, Season of the Chosen, we can expect the feature to be enabled near the end of the year.

"We’ll be doing some internal rollouts and alpha tests in Season 14 to prepare for a widespread launch this fall," Bungie stated.

The developers made it clear that crossplay will involve both console and PC users, however, it should be noted that Crucible, Destiny 2's PvP mode, will function differently in this regard.

"We won’t be matching console and PC players together in the Crucible unless PC players specifically invite their console friends to play with them in the PC Crucible pools."

When is transmog coming to Destiny 2?

Transmog, short for Transmogrification, is a term borrowed from World of Warcraft, referring to a player's ability to customize their characters from a cosmetic point of view without affecting stats provided by gear.

In Destiny 2, this system will be known as Armor Synthesis.

The way Bungie will implement this system will see Ada-1 return to the Tower for Season 14, she'll be able to "take any armor they have in their collections and turn it into a universal ornament."

Bungie confirmed VoG is coming back during Season 14. Don't expect massive changes to the mechanics, but rather an update to the difficulty of the encounters to match Destiny 2.

Furthermore, the devs are looking to spice up the always exciting World's First raid race, as players will not only have to complete the raid "but also a curated list of challenging Triumphs."
