Fans have been asking for a Terrifier x Dead by Daylight collab for a while now, with interest in the killer ramping up even more after the recent release of Terrifier 3 earlier this month. So, with the timing seeming more opportune than ever, is Art the Clown from Terrifier coming to Dead by Daylight any time soon?
Unfortunately, it doesn't seem so, based on some statements posted to X/Twitter by Terrifier 2 director Steven Barton - but he also said the collab is definitely not out of the question in the future. Barton has been discussing the possibility of a Dead by Daylight collab for several years - and has stated that both sides have expressed interest in the chapter - but it seems that things just haven't worked out.
Back in 2022, Barton mentioned Dead by Daylight Game Director Mathieu Cote and Behaviour on X/Twitter, asking if the fans have "been loud enough yet" with a gif of Art attached.
A fan responded to the post on 27 October 2024, joking that Behaviour had been "ignoring" Barton's calls for the past two years.
Barton clarified on 28 October that the lack of a chapter wasn't on Mathieu Cote. Behaviour, he said, wanted a Terrifier chapter "as much as the fans" - but the two parties apparently couldn't come to an agreement.
"They did their best and honestly want this as much as the fans," Barton wrote. "We tried. Hopefully it'll come together sooner rather than later. Keep the faith."
While it's not confirmed that there will be a Terrifier Dead by Daylight chapter in the future or that Art the Clown will be added to the game as a killer, it seems like it could be a possibility if things fall into place and both sides manage to work out a licensing agreement.
In fact, in a September player survey, Behaviour asked fans what DLCs they'd like to see added to the game, and Art the Clown from Terrifier was on the list. This suggests that Behaviour could be open to a collab, depending on fans' level of interest. For now, though, fans will need to wait and see what happens and if the potential chapter might come to fruition.
