With the addition of the Alien franchise to Dead by Daylight, many fans have been long-awaiting the addition of Predator. In fact, Predator might just be one of the most-rumored possible killers to come to the game - whether as a new killer character himself or as a skin for Alien. Unfortunately, though, recent leaks suggest that Predator won’t be coming to Dead by Daylight - at least not anytime in the near future. This information comes from DBD leaker LeaksbyDaylight.
“Disney, which owns the Predator franchise, was reportedly unhappy with the sales of the Alien chapter released in 2023,” the leaker explained. “This dissatisfaction has led to the decision not to pursue a Predator chapter at this time.”
This will likely disappoint a lot of fans, though the news isn’t all bad. While it doesn’t seem like Predator is coming to DBD, more Alien content seems to be on the way. The recent Disney leaks included some fresh looks at character designs for Rain Carradine, the protagonist of the upcoming Alien: Romulus film, and a possible new skin for The Xenomorph herself.
Even if Predator doesn’t come to Dead by Daylight, Alien is already in the game - so it’s likely easier for developers to make way for more related content than for a totally new chapter or license, which is what introducing Predator would involve.
Leaks by Daylight has posted many correct leaks in the past - correctly predicting the introduction of Chucky to the game, for example - but has also been incorrect about some predictions. As a result, it’s important to take these leaks with a grain of salt. Even the leaker themselves notes that “these rumors should be taken with a grain of salt, [though] they certainly add an intriguing layer of speculation for Dead by Daylight fans.”
