If you're diving into the expansion Disney Dreamlight Valley: A Rift in Time, this journey to Eternity Isle will be full of new obstacles for your Royal Tools to demolish. Unfortunately, some of the most frustrating items littering Eternity Isle cannot be broken until you upgrade your tools on Eternity Isle.
Thanks to your new trusty Royal Hourglass, all of your Disney Dreamlight Valley tools will be able to upgrade two more times during the DLC expansion A Rift in Time. We've got details on everything you'll need, but it starts with Merlin.
How to Upgrade Eternity Isle Tools in Disney Dreamlight Valley
When you land on Eternity Isle, the usual Night Thorns and Tree Stumps are nowhere to be found. However, your Royal Tools can break all of the new obstacles littered across the Disney Dreamlight Valley: A Rift in Time DLC once they get a little bit of an upgrade. First, you'll have to unlock the Royal Hourglass with our new pal EVE.
After finishing this up as well as The Sands in the Hourglass, which will grant you access to the Wild Tangle and Glittering Dunes, Merlin should present you with the "Village Project: Timeless Treasure" quest. Merlin will give you a Timebending Table to place, and you'll first use it to make a few pieces of furniture.
You'll need Ancient Pipes, Ancient Magnets, Ancient Plates, Ancient Gears, and a dash of Quartz to make these. The Quartz can be mined from rock veins in Ancient's Landing, but all the other items are found by searching for hidden treasure with your Royal Hourglass.
Get used to this step, as it'll become a mainstay of upgrading your tools in Eternity Isle as well as earning Mist for other needs. Make sure you choose Timebending as a companion skill soon after unlocking the Hourglass and bring them along every time, as even one extra of some rare items can be a huge benefit.
Timeless Trash to Timeless Tools
Once you've gotten that early quest knocked out, it'll be time to actually improve what your non-Hourglass tools are capable of. Your next Merlin quest is "Village Project: Timeless Trash," and it will give you the ability to remove piles of rocks and rubble in Ancient's Landing, break glass stalagmites in the Glittering Dunes, and destroy evil plants in the Wild Tangle.
How to Remove Rubble Debris in Disney Dreamlight Valley
To begin with, you need to craft a Small Rubble Shovel Potion to remove the rocky debris and rubble littering Ancient's Landing. Gather the following before heading to the Timebending Table:
- 500 Mist
- 10 Pearls
You can find Pearls by digging anywhere in Ancient's Landing, and a digging companion will help speed this process up for you.
How to Remove Evil Plants in Wild Tangle
Next up, you need to create a Small Evil Plant Watering Can Potion to destroy the thorny looking plants in the Wild Tangle which keep getting in your way. Gather the following before heading to the Timebending table:
- 500 Mist
- 10 Tropical Wood
You can find Tropical Wood on the ground near trees in the Wild Tangle. If you played the expansion soon after release, you may also have some Tropical Wood in your mailbox as a gift due to an early spawning bug that has since been fixed.
How to Break Glass Rocks in Glittering Dunes
For those wavy looking chunks of rocky glass in the Glittering Dunes, you need to craft a Small Glass Stalagmite Pickaxe Potion. Gather the following before heading to the Timebending Table:
- 500 Mist
- 10 Oasis Glass
Similar to the Pearls, you only need to go digging in the Glittering Dunes to rack up some Oasis Glass. This will also be a useful resource later on, so a digging companion is recommended.
Large Tool Upgrades
After you've done the smaller upgrades above, that will wrap up the Timeless Trash quest for Merlin. His final one leads to the best upgrades, but ones that will take some time to unlock. If you want to destroy the large versions of all the debris across Eternity Isle, it'll take even more mist.
Start the quest "Village Project: Timeless Tools" by speaking to Merlin again, and he now wants you to craft five different tool upgrades. In all cases, you'll need Mist and at least one Ancient Core (Level 1), which is gathered by searching for Hidden Treasure with your Hourglass.
Here are the recipes for each large tool upgrade in Eternity Isle:
- Large Swirling Sands Hourglass Potion: 3000 Mist, Ancient Core (Level 1)
- Large Copper Rocks Pickaxe Potion: 3000 Mist, Ancient Core (Level 1), 40 Copper
- Large Evil Plant Watering Can Potion: 3000 Mist, Ancient Core (Level 1), 40 Tropical Wood
- Large Rubble Shovel Potion: 3000 Mist, Ancient Core (Level 1), 20 Pearl
- Large Glass Stalagmite Pickaxe Potion: 3000 Mist, Ancient Core (Level 1), 20 Oasis Glass
The most lengthy part of this challenge will be accumulating 15000 Mist to snag all five of these upgrades. You can use the same locations mentioned above for most of the other ingredients, and copper is found in mining veins throughout Eternity Isle.
