If you're diving into the new Disney Dreamlight Valley: A Rift in Time expansion, you'll have quickly noticed that Mist takes the place of Dreamlight as an important in-game currency for this region. You'll still need to get Dreamlight to unlock areas in your main valley, but Eternity Isle requires a little something special.
Some of the same methods you may have used in the past will still work here, but there are a few tricks to get Mist in Disney Dreamlight Valley. We'll go over the best tips and tricks here so you can unlock every single area around Ancient's Landing.
What is Mist used for in Disney Dreamlight Valley?
Once you've kicked off your Disney Dreamlight Valley: A Rift in Time journey by completing The Port of Many Worlds, you'll discover a whole new commodity known as Mist. First introduced as you work on The Secrets of Eternity Isle, this counterpart to Dreamlight will be used for crucial crafting recipes and is key to unlocking new biomes.
While you may be alarmed by the numbers required to unlock some areas, getting rolling on several quests will net you huge chunks of Mist just through each natural step. Just like when you're in the valley, Mist will be required in large quantities for some critical crafting recipes, in a few quests, and to access new biomes.
Quests to get Gaston or get Rapunzel as part of your village in Disney Dreamlight Valley will require you to spend quite a bit of Mist to unlock new areas. You'll also utilize Mist with the new Ancient Machines with have introduced a layer of automation, and Mist is spent to utilize these appliances.
Tips to Get Mist Fast in Disney Dreamlight Valley
One of the most efficient ways of earning Mist quickly in Disney Dreamlight Valley is just by continuing to finish quests and explore new areas. Just like the valley, each new biome on Eternity Isle contains new fruits, vegetables, fish, and critters.
If you go to the Dreamlight tab while paused and check the Eternity Isle section, you'll notice that tasks of just about every potential category will net you Mist. Everything from harvest additional fruits to planting crops (even cheap valley crops) on Eternity Isle will earn you Mist.
On top of that, you can use the Hourglass unlocked as part of The Flying Metal Nuisance to earn Mist. Make sure you've always got a villager hanging out with you that has Timebending as their bonus, then find Hidden Treasure and knock out Time Rifts wherever you see them.
You can even use your new Royal Hourglass in the valley. All other areas that already exist in Disney Dreamlight Valley can net you Mist by using the Hourglass. Just keep on pushing, and you'll soon have plenty of Mist to unlock every part of Eternity Isle.
