With the upcoming launch of Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty, new players are preparing to jump in. But when exactly can they play the new DLC, and do they have to complete the full game before they can play it? We've got all the details, so strap in.
When can you play Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty?
Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty takes place partway through the game and adds a new ending to the base game that you can only unlock if you beat the DLC. The game will very specifically tell you when you hit various points of no return and moments where the world itself substantially changes, so you'll be able to work out exactly when you should play Phantom Liberty by keeping an eye on these.
You can either start playing Phantom Liberty from the start without having to run through the entire game by choosing it from the menu, or you can play the game up until around Act 2, I Walk The Line. You'll need to meet Johnny Silverhand before you can start the DLC, as the DLC heavily features Silverhand himself. Once you hit Pacifica you'll be able to start Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty and be able to completely explore a brand new region of Night City.
