Cyberpunk 2077 has its fair share of errors that players encounter from time to time that prevents them from having a good gameplay experience. One of them is the error that says, "Encountered an error caused by corrupted or missing scripts file," and it can prevent you from playing the game which can be pretty frustrating. If you are facing this issue, here is how you can fix it.

CD Projekt has not provided an official fix, but you can definitely try out the below solutions to this error that have helped various players.

First of all, when you get "Encountered an error caused by corrupted or missing scripts file" you also get a message to check Cyberpunk 2077's game files' integrity. You can do this using various ways:

  • GOG.com - Launch GOG Galaxy on your system and log in with your account. Find Cyberpunk 2077 in your Owned Games list and go to Customize > Manage installation > Verify / Repair. 
  • Steam - Open Steam and go to Library, and find Cyberpunk 2077 in the list. Right-click on it and select Properties from the menu. Then go to the "Local files" tab and hit the "Verify integrity of game cache..." button to verify the game's files.
  • Epic Games - In Epic Games Launcher, go to the Library section and search for Cyberpunk 2077. Click on the three dots and choose the "Verify" option from the list.

It will download/repair any missing/corrupted files, and once done, try relaunching the game to see if the issue has been fixed.

If you are still facing the error, you need to check if you have any mods installed, and if you should try removing them by going to Steam > steamapps > common > Cyberpunk 2077 > archive > PC > mod and delete one mod and then relaunch the game. Do it with all the mods and don't reinstall the mod that is causing this error.
