Passion was running high throughout the event, culminating in a best-of-five grand final. Let's take a look at how it all went down on the server.
NAVI vs. G2 Map 1 (Ancient)
On NAVI's map pick of Ancient, it was G2 Esports on the T side that got off to a strong start, winning the Pistol Round and then converting for an early 2-0 lead. While NAVI did get a bomb plant in the 3rd round, G2 managed to defuse the post-plant situation and converted another for a 4-0 lead despite some close situations.
NAVI finally got on the board in the 5th round. However, G2 instantly responded with a hero AWP setup and pistols, stopping NAVI from planting the bomb in time and even forcing a Tactical Timeout. Coming off the timeout, NAVI followed up with a solid execution on the A site to claw another back and put G2 back on pistols. NAVI followed up with another couple of rounds and tied up Ancient 5-5. As teams switched sides, it was dead even at 6-6 apiece.
On the T side, G2 managed to plant the bomb and then win the Pistol Round, with Mario "malbsMd" Samayoa scoring not one but two knife kills. G2 then converted the next round for an 8-6 lead.
In the 15th round, Nikola "NiKo" Kovač pulled off a strong clutch to stop the bomb defuse with just 0.11 seconds left. Then, with NAVI back on pistols, G2 got another on the board for a 10-6 lead.
Back on rifles, NAVI's Mihai "iM" Ivan got three kills in the 17th round to give NAVI fans an awesome show. Then, NAVI's IGL Aleksi "Aleksib" Virolainen led by example to score four kills and put G2 back on pistols (and one hero AK), which NAVI also overcame with relative ease.
G2 then bounced back to win the 20th round and reclaim a two-round lead, then put themselves on map point with a 12-9 lead, putting NAVI on a low-buy. G2 didn't let the opportunity go to waste and, in the 23rd round, secured Ancient with a 13-9 win.
NAVI vs. G2 Map 2 (Dust2)
G2 Esports' map pick of Dust2, NAVI opened with a solid Pistol Round win, then G2 opted to force buy. However, NAVI managed to convert the 2nd round after losing the opening kill and claimed another to take a strong early lead of 3-0.
In the 4th round of Dust2, G2 got on the board after securing the B site. However, NAVI instantly responded in the 5th with a solid CT defensive round.
G2 didn't give NAVI any time to breathe, responding to NAVI's previous win with a solid B push. In the 7th round, G2 caught NAVI off-guard with an A push and some fast kills on Catwalk. G2 tried A site again in the 8th round, but NAVI's IGL was prepared, stopping the push for a 5-3 lead.
For most of the first half, it was a back-and-forth affair on Dust2, but NAVI managed to pull ahead in the final rounds to take a 7-5 lead.
On the T side of Dust2, NAVI opened up strong with another Pistol Round win. G2 opted for a force buy again, and this time, it worked wonderfully well as they pulled one back.
Early on in the second half of Dust2, NAVI was 8-7 ahead, with G2 closing the gap and Nikola "NiKo" Kovač powering up with four kills in the 15th round. G2 then tied up the map against NAVI's eco.
Ever since that force buy that worked for G2 Esports so well in the 2nd round of the 2nd half, they didn't give up anything to NAVI, and in the 18th round, they were the first to get double digits. At the time, G2 Esports was 10-8 ahead against NAVI on Dust2.
After a Tactical Pause and NAVI's coach Andrij "B1ad3" Ghorodensjkyj giving the team a talk, they instantly responded to G2's onslaught and won the 19th round. In the 20th round, NAVI hit B site hard to tie up the map 10-10, but G2 responded again to win the next round after a failed B site push by NAVI.
NAVI kept pushing to exploit the B site and put pressure on the defending players, winning the 22nd round to tie up the map 11-11. G2 was the first team to reach map point with a 12-11 lead after a huge team engagement again on the B site.
In the 24th round, G2 closed out Dust2 with a 13-11 score, shutting down NAVI on the A site and thereby going up 2-0 in the best-of-five grand finale.
NAVI vs. G2 Map 3 (Mirage)
Mirage was NAVI's 2nd map pick and the third of the BLAST Fall Final 2024 grand finale; G2 started on the CT side and picked up the Pistol, but NAVI did get the bomb plant finances, which allowed NAVI to go for a force buy, which was unsuccessful. This means G2 Esports could easily convert against an eco and take an early 3-0 lead.
In the first real gun round, NAVI pulled off a solid A split and got the bomb plant to put themselves on the board, but G2 instantly responded with a strong defense. G2 then converted against NAVI's eco despite a few blunders that almost cost them the 6th round. Early on in Mirage, G2 had a 5-1 lead.
G2 took down another gun round in a convincing fashion and swept another NAVI eco under the rug for a 7-1 lead.
While the 9th round was close, it was G2's Nikola "NiKo" Kovač who stepped up in a 4v2 situation to get four kills and defuse the bomb plant, tearing NAVI limb from limb. Despite another close few rounds, G2 had a monumental 9-3 lead as teams switched sides but NAVI had, at the very least, a bit of momentum winning the last two rounds of the half.
As the teams switched sides, NAVI was on the CT side of Mirage. NAVI got off to a strong start in the second half, winning the Pistol Round and then converting despite taking some damage. NAVI then won a full rifle round and put G2 back on a half-buy, then cleaned up the 16th as well. At the time, G2 Esports was 9-7 ahead.
After an intense and beautiful 17th round, NAVI scored their 5th round win in a row, closing the gap to just a one-round deficit. A weak buy from G2 in the 18th round saw a messy round result in a big blunder from NAVI, as G2 hit double-digits and a 10-8 lead.
A quick B execute from G2 saw NAVI put up a perfect defense, clawing back a round without losing a single player. NAVI then tied up the score 10-10 after a solid 20th round and broke G2's economy.
G2's low-buy in the 21st didn't work out with a B site push, so NAVI pulled ahead 11-10. Ilya "m0NESY" Osipov got the opening pick for G2 Esports in the 22nd round and NAVI couldn't get a pick in return. G2 executed on the A site and despite NAVI getting three kills, m0NESY clutched to tie up the map 11-11.
NAVI put themselves on map point with a 12-11 lead after an incredibly intense engagement on the A site post-plant situation. In the 24th round, G2 was unable to force overtime, as NAVI won Mirage 13-11 to force a fourth map in the BLAST Fall Final 2024 grand finale.
NAVI vs. G2 Map 4 (Inferno)
G2 started off strong on the T side of Inferno by getting a bomb plant and winning the pistol round, despite Justinas "jL" Lekavičius scoring three kills and nearly creating an upset. G2 converted against NAVI's force buy and then cleaned up pistols for an early 3-0 lead.
In the first full gun round, NAVI got an early pick on Snax, and as time started to run out, G2 pushed the B site, but NAVI held very well, only losing one player and getting on the board on Inferno. NAVI pulled another gun round out of the bag, and then converted against an eco to tie the score 3-3.
In the 7th round, Ilya "m0NESY" Osipov pulled off a banger of a shot on b1t, and things fell apart for NAVI, as G2 claimed the A site while only losing one player. In the 8th round, despite a valiant effort from Aleksi "Aleksib" Virolainen on the B defense, G2 secured the site, and NAVI decided to save. At the time, G2 was ahead 5-3 but NAVI quickly responded to make it 5-4.
With the duo of m0NESY and NiKo, G2 managed to get a plant on the B site and defend it despite being a couple of players down, extending their lead to 6-4.
NAVI pushed the issue with solid picks in the 11th round, and then, in the 12th round, G2 successfully pushed B site yet again and closed out the first half with a 7-5 lead.
As teams switched sides, with NAVI on the T side, they pushed the B site in the Pistol Round, and Justinas "jL" Lekavičius pulled off an excellent clutch (on his birthday). However, on G2's force buy, they pulled one back for an 8-6 lead from an early 4v5 situation.
G2 held a solid defense against NAVI to shut down a gun round and then converted against another NAVI eco to get double-digits on the board (10-6).
In the 17th round, G2 held strong and shut down a NAVI attack, resulting in a save call from Aleksi "Aleksib" Virolainen and an 11-6 lead for G2. With a clutch required from Ilya "m0NESY" Osipov, the young AWPer delivered to put G2 on map and series point, with a 12-6 lead.
NAVI pulled one back in the 19th round with a beautiful first pick from Justinas "jL" Lekavičius that sets the stage for a successful A site execute.
In the 20th round, G2 Esports finished off proceedings, defending the A site with vigor, as we saw Ilya "m0NESY" Osipov pull off a 2v1 clutch to win Inferno 13-7, and the BLAST Premier Fall Final 2024 grand finale 3-1.
