For most of the BLAST Premier Fall Final matches so far, we've seen teams lose their map picks and even have terrible starts. G2 Esports, on their map pick of Dust2, didn't fall into that category of teams. Instead, G2 Esports won the pistol and converted quickly, then started to run away with it in the first half on the T side.
With G2's hot start, NAVI only managed to recover some rounds at the end of the first half, and as teams switched sides, it was 8-4 in favor of G2 Esports.
NAVI won the pistol round in the second half and converted with relative ease against G2's force, then converted again against a full eco. Keep in mind that G2 was up 8-1 and that NAVI closed the gap to 8-7, pushing for a huge comeback. Then, Ihor "w0nderful" Zhdanov tied up the score for NAVI with four fantastic kills, shutting down G2 in style.
G2 finally pushed back and broke NAVI's huge win streak in the 20th round to pull one back. NAVI responded quickly and avoided too much economic damage, winning the next rounds to close out Dust2 with a 13-9 score.
On NAVI's map pick of Ancient, Aleksib and his squad continued their win streak and built a huge 7-0 lead on the T side before some heroics from Nikola "NiKo" Kovač in a save round saw G2 Esports get on the board.
NAVI instantly responded with another couple of round wins and as the first half finished up, NAVI had a commanding 9-3 lead.
With NAVI on the CT side, their Entry Fragger, Mihai "iM" Ivan, pulled off a beautiful four kills with the Dualies in the Pistol Round, and then NAVI converted for an 11-3 lead on Ancient. NAVI's Valerij "b1t" Vakhovsjkyj pulled off a beautiful clutch in the 16th round to put his squad on match point at 12-4.
G2 Esports kept cool under pressure, showing their big-match temperament despite trailing by eight rounds. With five round wins in a row, the score was 12-9, still in the favor of NAVI.
Finally, in the 22nd round, NAVI closed out Ancient with a 13-9 win and a 2-0 map score, demolishing G2 with solid performances overall.
With the win, NAVI proceeds to the semifinals of the BLAST Premier Fall Final 2024 playoffs, while G2 Esports advances to the Quarterfinals as the High Seeds.
