In the first match of Group B at the BLAST Premier Fall Final 2024, we saw Vitality demolish Astralis and cadiaN's controversial debut. There was even a 13-0 map win, so I didn't think the Team Liquid vs. Team Spirit match could deliver the same level of energy and excitement...but it did!

Heading into the event, Team Spirit was ranked 4th, and the extremely talented rifler, Danil "Donk" Kryshkovets, was in top form, while Team Liquid was ranked 8th. However, I did note in our Fantasy picks that Team Liquid was maybe a bit stronger than the current ranking would suggest, especially with the young AWPer, Roland "Ultimate" Tomkowiak, acclimating exceptionally well to top-tier CS2 esports and Canadian IGL, Russel "Twistzz" Van Dulken, making some fantastic calls.

Many CS2 fans expected Team Spirit to dominate, and on the first map (Liquid's pick) of Dust2, Team Spirit opened with a huge lead on the CT side (9-3), and when teams switched for the second half, a quick 4-0 from Spirit's T side meant they won the map with a dominating 13-3 performance.
Check out Danil "Donk" Kryshkovets's four kills in the 16th round to finish off Dust2 in style below.
On Team Spirit's map pick of Nuke, not everything went as planned for Leonid "chopper" Vishnyakov's side, as they lost the first half 8-4. To be fair, that was on the T side, so when the second half began, Team Spirit did close the gap.
Team Liquid, however, held their own on the T side of Nuke, scoring 5 round wins to secure a close 13-11 victory, forcing a third map in the series. Liquid's Canadian rifler, Keith "NAF" Markovic, pulled off an intense 3v1 clutch in the 24th round to secure victory, which you can watch below.
The third and deciding map, Anubis, saw Team Liquid take an early lead on the CT side, securing an 8-4 score in the first half.
However, Team Spirit started to mount a comeback, closing the gap slowly but surely. Despite Team Spirit pushing back, Team Liquid kept their cool under immense pressure, and we saw another huge clutch to seal the deal. This time, it was Team Liquid's Latvian entry fragger, Mareks "YEKINDAR" Gaļinskis, who pulled off a 3v1 clutch to avoid any possibility of overtime.
With the 2-1 win and comeback secured, Team Liquid moves on to the Winner's Match in Group B, where they will face an on-form Team Vitality. Team Spirit, however, will have to survive a match against Astralis in the Elimination Match of Group B at BLAST Premier Fall Final 2024.
