With the BLAST Premier Spring Final 2024 now complete and the dust settling over London, where Team Spirit reigned supreme, it's time for the player break to kick off. The player break isn't just a time for CS2 teams to relax, but it's a time for change. That's why you can expect a tonne of roster moves in the offseason.
One of the biggest moves straight off the bat comes from Team Liquid, who has benched legendary Danish in-game leader Casper "cadiaN" Møller. He is considered one of the best IGLs of the modern era and joined Team Liquid back in December 2023 as the American organization made some big moves.
However, Team Liquid didn't lift any notable trophies and didn't even make it through the American RMR to claim a spot in the first CS2 Major. The international roster even lost multiple games to local American opponents, definitely not something Liquid was hoping for.
Team Liquid took to X to announce the benching of Casper "cadiaN" Møller, stating:
Today we are moving cadiaN from the active roster to the bench for the purposes of exploring a transfer. Our time together did not work out as we hoped but we know he has a bright future ahead of him. We will be working closely with Casper as we explore all options moving forward.
cadiaN simply responded with, "Better times will come. Appreciate everyone’s support." At the time of writing, it is unclear where cadiaN would go, but it probably won't be back to HEROIC...
Team Liquid CS2 roster:
- Russel "Twistzz" Van Dulken
- Keith "NAF" Markovic
- Mareks "YEKINDAR" Gaļinskis
- Felipe "skullz" Medeiros
Wilton "zews" Prado is the coach of Team Liquid. It will be very interesting to see who Liquid replaces the larger than life AWPer and IGL, Casper "cadiaN" Møller, with, and if one of the current players will take up the mantle of captain.
