In the first quarterfinal match of BLAST Premier Fall Final 2024, we saw G2 Esports send Team Spirit packing, but the action wasn't done for the day. Instead,  Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) esports fans were treated to another big match between FaZe Clan and Team Liquid.

In Group A's opening match,  FaZe Clan lost 2-1 to a strong G2 Esports side and then survived Team Falcons in a close 2-1 match. Team Liquid stunned Spirit with a reverse sweep in the opening match of Group A and then lost to Team Vitality in a 2-0 sweep, even though their young AWPer put ZywOo under the knife.

That's how how we got to a Team Liquid vs, FaZe Clan quarterfinals match at BLAST Premier Fall Final.

In the opening map of Inferno (FaZe Clan's pick), right from the start, it was clear that Finn "karrigan" Andersen's men came not to play but to demolish their opponents. On the T side, FaZe clan quickly took the lead and ran with it. Team Liquid did fight back a bit and managed to grab a couple of extra rounds late in the half. The first half of Dust2 ended 8-4 in FaZe Clan's favor.

Despite FaZe Clan's dominating performance, my favorite highlight on Inferno has to be the ace from Team Liquid's Australian rifler, Justin "jks" Savage, which you can view in a Twitch clip replay below.

On the CT side of Inferno, FaZe Clan took charge and shut down execution attempts. Team Liquid didn't last long, as FaZe Clan finished off Dust2 with a 13-6 win.

Mirage was Team Liquid's map pick, which gave fans some hope of a more competitive series. With FaZe Clan starting on the CT side, they simply demolished Team Liquid's hopes, with an 11-1 lead as teams switched sides.

Although Team Liquid did fight back a bit, scoring two rounds on the CT side, it was too little too late, as FaZe Clan stomped Russel "Twistzz" Van Dulken's men 13-3 on Mirage and took the series with a very clean 2-0 win.

To be fair, Team Liquid had little chance as FaZe Clan's Estonian lurker, Robin "ropz" Kool, woke up and topped the leaderboard with some insane stats, scoring 37 kills in such a low-round series. Check out ropz' ace in the 9th round of Mirage below, using an AWP, not a rifle...

Team Liquid is eliminated in 5th/6th place, earning $20,000 for their troubles, while FaZe Clan moves on to face NAVI in the second semifinal match on 28 September at 19:00 CEST, so don't miss it.
