Ouch! It hasn't been the best of times for some Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) players, especially in Premier Mode. You see, for several hours on 7 April 2024, people could type in a code in the CS2 dev console to effectively activate a map hack...
As first reported on X several hours ago, the CS2 cheat code made rounds on the internet and ruined plenty of competitive matches. So much so that the community was urged not to play Premier Mode and possibly lose some CS Rating due to this cheat code issue.

No third-party software or actual cheat programs were needed to enable this "cheat," as you only needed to type in a specific string into the dev console. Yes, anyone and everyone could activate the CS2 cheat.
Thankfully, Valve was quite quick on the draw, shutting down the CS2 cheat code roughly eight to nine hours before it was first made public.
I can't help but wonder just how something like this could have happened in the first place, and how much CS Rating changed hands unfairly due to this issue. Even so, I have to commend Valve on fixing the issue with haste.
