If you are following Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) esports personalities or tournament organizers on X or other types of social media at all, you might see CS2 fans spamming "100," and ESL's Counter-Strike division changing its banner image.
So what's the #IEM100 all about? Well, I'm feeling old just typing this right now, but it's the 100th Intel Extreme Masters (IEM) event from main sponsor Intel and hosted by ESL. That's right; it's been roughly 14 years and 100 events...
Starting on 15 Match 2007 with the IEM Season I World Championship, the tournament series, over 99 events thus far, has a combined prize pool of $19,760,420, according to Liquipedia.
On 27 May 2024, we'll see the 100th IEM event take place. We are, of course, talking about the highly-anticipated IEM Dallas 2024, which runs from 27 May to 2 June 2024, featuring a $250,000 prize pool and 16 teams competing. Yes, when the dust settles over Dallas, the combined prize pool for IEM events will surpass the $20 million mark.
Those who are able to attend the event in person can also purchase the IEM 100th Collectable Experience, which is included with the 3-day infield ticket and can also be purchased separately by all ticket holders. The experience is described as:
The 100th IEM Experience includes exclusive merch from the 100th IEM celebration drop, a collectors golden event coin and one surprise item. Alongside, you will benefit from access to meet & greets, early badge pick-up and shorter queue times!
You can purchase tickets to IEM Dallas 2024 via its official page on the ESL Pro Tour website.
