How To Find Horses In Conan Exiles
As such, horses can be acquired in various ways; however, by far, the best way is to locate foals that can be found throughout the world or purchased from NPC vendors. These young horses have three variants available in-game, namely, a Foal, the Swift Foal, and the Sturdy Foal, for which placing them inside a Stable and feeding them their preferred foods can increase your chances of attaining one of four horse breeds.
So, with that being said, we’ve listed all known locations and their coordinates for acquiring a horse in Conan Exiles:
- The area between the King’s Niche dungeon, Lakewatch, and the Riversand (B/C10)
- The grassy landscape between The Breach and The Northern Aqueduct dungeons (G9)
- Along the coast, nearby Pitfall Pass (K5/6)
After successfully capturing a Foal, you’ll need to place it inside a Stable, which its blueprint can be obtained after learning the Stablemaster Knowledge. Requiring Bricks, Shaped Wood, and Twine, craft the Stable at the Construction Hammer before placing it anywhere on your base grounds before you can begin to tame the animal.
How to Tame a Horse
As mentioned before, you can feed the horse almost any type of food to tame it; however, a few foods will maximize your chance of increasing its Attributes. It’s advised to farm these ingredients before or during the taming process, as we’ve provided the complete list of preferred foods below:
- Asura’s Glory
- Bark
- Desert Berries
- Grey-flower Lupine
- Highland Berries
- Hops
- Leavening Agent
- Seeds
- Shadespiced Highland Berries
- Vines
After completing the taming process, you can receive one of four horse variants: Variant A (Buckskin Tan), Variant B (Dapple Grey), Variant C (Brown/White Pinto), and Variant D (Bay Brown). If you wish to utilize the horse as a mount, you must craft a saddle first, granting the horse additional perks such as increased speed, maneuverability, defense, and acceleration.
The saddle can be equipped to the horse’s inventory, a dedicated slot within your armor slots. It will also gain more Stamina; however, if it depletes its Stamina, you will be thrown off the horse before regaining it.
Additionally, certain weapons can be wielded while mounted, which adds a new way of engaging in combat with enemies and creatures. These weapons include axes, bows, mace, pikes, spears, and swords which you can use to attack while mounted on your horse.
Lastly, you can level up your horse once it’s placed into the world, and can be achieved by simply following you on your explorations. Other ways of leveling up your horse are riding, engaging in combat while mounted, and when enemies are eliminated when you’re on foot.
