Warzone sniper tier list - Every sniper and marksman rifle ranked from best to worst for Season 5

As is tradition, a new season in Call of Duty: Warzone means a tonne of new content, from new POIs to brand-new weapons (Tec-9 SMG and the EM2 AR), a shiny new battle pass, and much more. With so much to do, including unlocking new prestige levels and rewards, Warzone Season 5 is certainly packed with content. While there aren't any new sniper or marksman rifles in Warzone Season 5, that doesn't mean the meta didn't change, which is why we've compiled a new tier list for fans of sniper rifles.

The Swiss K31 was released all the way back in Season 3, and with no new additions, the tally for sniper and marksman rifles in Warzone Season 5 remains 16. Taking the current meta and into account, we've ranked all the sniper and marksman rifles from best to worst in our tier list.

Please note:There are no balance changes at the start of Warzone Season 5. These are coming "in the near future". The meta, however, has shifted quite a lot.

Warzone Season 5 sniper & marksman rifle tier list

Verdansk is a big place and if you like picking off enemies from afar, a sniper or marksman rifle could be your best bet. These long-range weapons can and will destroy opponents if you pick the best ones. That's where our sniper and marksman rifle tier list for Warzone Season 5 comes into play. 

Let's break down what each tier means down below.

Description of the tiers

• S-Tier: The best of the best for lovers of long-range engagements. These sniper/marksman rifles don't even need all the best attachments to make their bullets sing.
• A-Tier: With the right attachments, these sniper/marksman rifles can still take your opponents down with ease in Warzone Season 5.
• B-Tier: If you pick all the best attachments these sniper rifles can get the job done in Verdansk.
• C-Tier: Useful in certain situations with the perfect loadout, these sniper rifles at the start of Warzone Season 5 aren't all that great.
• D-Tier: The trash tier. Throw away these sniper/marksman rifles for something better, anything really!

Sniper tier list Warzone Season 5

As always, remember that these tier lists aren't an exact science.  We endeavour to always have our tier lists as accurate as possible. The developer can, however, choose to either nerf or buff weapons throughout the season as well. When this occurs, we will update our sniper and marksman rifle tier list.

Let's kick things off with the best-of-the-best sniper and marksman rifles at the start of Warzone Season 5.

S-Tier:

• Kar98k
• K31 Swiss
• HDR

The Kar98k marksman rifle stands out as the best for those aggressive, quick-scoping antics, while the K31 Swiss has seen quite the rise in popularity, being one of the three meta weapons for Warzone Season 5 in terms of long-range combat. 

Moving up a few tiers, the HDR barely makes it into the S-Tier, as a hard-hitting sniper from the Modern Warfare era which has been spotted in the meta more and more.

A-Tier:

• LW3 Tundra 
• ZRG 20mm
• SP-R 208

While still considered one of the best hybrid marksman rifles in Warzone Season 5, the SP-R 208 drops down to the A-Tier. The ZRG 20mm is a solid, traditional sniper rifle in Warzone Season 5, great for long-range engagements. 

B-Tier:

• AX-50
• M82
• Pelington 703

The AX-50 can make a big impact in Verdansk and is close to the A-Tier ranking. Find the best loadout to suit your needs and these sniper/marksman rifles can get the job done.

C-Tier:

• EBR-14
• SKS
• MK2 Carbine

These C-Tier weapons on our sniper tier list for Warzone Season 5 aren't all that great. When paired with an SMG or AR just as a secondary option, they can still be useful in some situations.

D-Tier:

• Rytec AMR
• Dragunov
• R1 Shadowhunter
• Crossbow

Despite some awesome names such as Dragunov and R1 Shadowhunter, these are the trash tier sniper and marksman rifles at the start of Warzone Season 5. You would be much better off with one of the other 12 on the list, and only use these when you need to complete some sort of challenge. The only sniper rifle even remotely serviceable for Warzone Season 5 in this tier is the Rytec AMR.

So there you have it, all the best sniper and marksman rifles in Warzone Season 5, ranked from the best to the absolute worst.
