It should be no surprise that Warzone Pacific players often have the most to say in response to updates to Call of Duty's popular battle royale; however, more often than not, they're right.
Following months of complaints by players about the long list of unresolved bugs and glitches, Call of Duty players are now hammering Raven Software for its 6th January 2022 update to the Warzone Pacific playlist.
Warzone Pacific playlist pushes players to buy Vanguard
The latest Warzone Pacific playlist update has sparked a flood of complaints from concerned players, who feel that the playlist is forcing them to purchase COD Vanguard.
The Warzone Pacific Week of 6th January Playlist includes the following game modes:
- Vanguard Royale - Solos, Duos, Trios
- Vanguard Resurgence - Quads
- Battle Royale - Quads
- Plunder - Duos
- Resurgence - Trios
Venting their frustration on Reddit, one player wrote, "I understand wanting to push to Vanguard modes to sell the game, but holy sh*t is it frustrating not to be able to play regular [Battle Royale] trios, duos or solo."

"Vanguard Royale is a blatant attempt at forcing users to buy [COD Vanguard] because sales are in the toilet," barked one angry player on Reddit. "The mode itself is dogsh*t with auto-aiming planes [and] infinite UAV."
"I have a feeling we won't see the full range of options on regular [Battle Royale] ever again," said another pessimistic player. "My group refuses to play [COD Vanguard] because levelling the Vanguard guns is a nightmare," said a third.
The latest playlist update means that unless players are in squads of four, teammates who do not own COD Vanguard cannot play with their friends.
"I f**king hate using Vanguard guns in general [...] Between this and Krampus, nobody is happy with the current direction this game is going in," echoed another player.
Raven Software previously welcomed open dialogue with the Call of Duty community, so we'll have to wait and see whether they keep to their promise, particularly since, in this case, these complaints are warranted.
