The Call of Duty: Warzone Season 6 update is finally here! Raven Software has released its content roadmap, which includes the start of the terrifying limited-time event called "The Haunting", later this month. There are also several new additions, including a new twist on a Warzone game mode: Rebirth Resurgence, new Operators, new weapons, bug fixes, and of course, weapon balance changes.
Out of the twelve weapons that received nerfs or buffs, only two weapons from the light machine gun (LMG) weapons class was changed: the LMG Alpha (or Stoner 63) and the MG 82. Raven Software noted that their latest balance changes were aimed at better scaling weapons in accordance with the skill required to wield them. So without further adieu, here's our updated list of the best LMGs to use in Warzone Season 6, ranked from best to worst.
Warzone Season 6 LMG tier list
Light-machine guns are high capacity, high RPM killing machines. Possessing good range, and high damage output, these guns aren't exactly light and thus mobility usually is affected. Typically, LMGs are best paired with an SMG or Markman Rifle.
Description of the tiers
- S-Tier: Meta picks for Warzone Season 6. With the right attachments, these could be considered overpowered.
- A-Tier: While not quite worthy of a seat at the top table, they are still absolute shredders and do considerable amounts of damage.
- B-Tier: In the right hand, and with the right attachments, these LMGs can still clap. Just make sure you know what you're doing with them.
- C-Tier: Don't pick these if there are other options available.
- D-Tier: Trash. Forget they exist.
Light Machine Gun tier list
We endeavour to always have our tier lists as accurate as possible. The developers may, however, choose to either nerf or buff weapons throughout the season as well. When this occurs, we will update this list.
We've listed all of the LMGs in Warzone Season 6, ranked from best to worst.
S-Tier
- PKM
With practically no changes made to the LMG gun class, the PKM remains the strongest LMG to use in Warzone Season 6. The weapon excels at range and has considerable damage output potential thanks to its large ammunition capacity. The PKM's heavy suppressive fire makes it the perfect weapon to take down Snipers.
A-Tier
- Bruen MK9
The Bruen MK9 is a strong weapon that can be used to run down kids like an absolute unit on the battlefield. Despite its relatively poor accuracy, the Bruen MK9 still hits pretty damn hard and pretty much redefines the phrase, "flies like a butterfly but stings like a bee."
We don't really feel as though there are other weapons to take the place of the Stoner 63 so the Bruen MK9 will have to remain in the A-Tier alone, for the time being.
B-Tier
- SA87
The SA87 has become an underrated weapon to use in past seasons as players have been experimenting with old and new Warzone weapons. As many are rediscovering the potential that the SA87 possesses, recent buffs have made this weapon quite competitive.
Thanks to its rapid reload rate, which is similar to that of an assault rifle, decent mobility and fire rate. The SA87 does boast quite an impressive recoil and capacity for magazines which can make the SA87 quite the powerful weapon.
C-Tier
Sadly, the LMG Alpha (or Stoner 63) and the MG 82 got knocked down a tier thanks to the Season 6 update which significantly nerfed both weapons. While it may have cemented its status in the current meta, its recoil still remains a problem in the brand new season.
Similarly, the MG 82 faces recoil issues as its, reload time was nerfed in Season 6. For such a powerful weapon like the MG 82, it yet remains whether it too will remain popular with the meta.
D-Tier
- M60
- MG34
- FiNN LMG
- M91
These are the guns you swipe "left" to on Tinder. Just ignore them and pretend that they don't even exist. They're actual trash.
So there you have it, our tier list of all LMGs at the start of Warzone Season 6, ranked from best to worst. Disagree with our list? We don't care. If you're looking for more disappointment then be sure to check out our Assault Rifle, SMG, Shotgun, Sniper and Tactical Rifle tier lists.
