If a gun from a certain era can be "popular" then the STG-44 is certainly one of them, in any World War 2 game that features it, the STG-44 is always one of the strongest and most powerful weapons in the game and, in the case of Call of Duty: Vanguard, that trend continues.
So powerful in fact, that we currently have the gun in our S-Tier for assault rifles, the best of the game's five ARs. That doesn't mean there isn't room for improvement and with Call of Duty: Vanguard's vast array of attachments and modifications, that goes all the way down to the ammo used, it's possible to get even more out of this gun.
If that is something you are interested in, then you have landed on the right page, as we break down the weapon in this guide revealing the most meta STG-44 loadout for Vanguard.
The best STG-44 loadout for Call of Duty: Vanguard
Vanguard allows you to attach up to 10 different modifications, but remember less is sometimes more and with that in mind, we've added only 8 attachments.
- Muzzle: Recoil Booster
- Underbarrel: M3 Read Grip
- Optic: Slate Reflector
- Rear Grip: Rubber Grip
- Stock: Konstanz Tactical
- Ammo: Frangible
- Proficiency: Pressure
- Kit: Surplus
As far as assault rifles go, for all of the STG-44's positive attributes, it is does have a relatively low RPM compared to the game's other assault rifles.
To solve that we have opted for Recoil Booster muzzle which increases the fire rate at a small cost to recoil.
For the underbarrel we have gone for the M3 Ready Grip which helps keep you mobile, improving ADS speed, sprint-to-fire speed and aim walking movement speed.
The Slate Reflector optic has been attached, no magnification is offered, but a near clear sightline is, and it's great for bobbing and weaving with the STG-44.
We've opted for the Rubber Grip, which helps decrease recoil at no cost to any other attributes.
The Konstanz Tactical stock is a great option for the STG-44, at a cost to hip fire accuracy and sprint to fire speed, you will see improvements in accuracy and recoil as well as aim walking speed and steadiness.
For ammo we have gone for the Frangible rounds which devastates those on the end of their way; increasing flinch, delaying enemy healing, and leg shots will slow movement massively, making them easy pickings.
For proficiency, we have picked Pressure which speeds up reloading when shot. For the Kit, you can pick any that you feel is appropriate but we have opted for Surplus to speed up levelling the weapon.
