How To Peek Over Walls - CoD Modern Warfare 2

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2's beta has given us a great look into the new gameplay and features that will be available once the game fully releases in November. One aspect that players are paying a lot of attention to is the new movement mechanics in the game, such as the new ability to peek over walls using a pistol.

This new mechanic is set to bring a new layer of depth to the gameplay and provide tactical and stealthy options for players in a tight spot. So in this guide, we're going to show you exactly how to peek over walls and get the drop on your unsuspecting enemies in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2. 

How To Peek Over Walls - CoD Modern Warfare 2

To peek over walls a player will first need to approach any wall or structure that is too high to mantle, and then enter a ledge hang, from which you can hold onto the edge and look around. On Xbox, PlayStation, and PC, a prompt button will appear, instructing players to jump up to the ledge.

From there, players can choose to keep moving forward to climb over the wall/obstacle or use their sidearm to peer over the top of the wall they're hanging from. This gives you the ability to peek over a wall with your sidearm and quickly pick off other players without giving away your position or to ambush a specific player and clear out an area you need to access.

This can also be used for a more tactical purpose and less of an offensive one, as you can simply peek over and scout an enemy's position to gain intel for yourself and your team without revealing yourself. This new mechanic is yet another aspect that will add more depth and strategic gameplay when playing Modern Warfare 2. 

It should also be noted that players cannot use any other kind of weapon aside from a sidearm to fire while peeking over a wall. You will still be able to grab the ledge and peek over the wall, but only you will only be able to assault enemies in this position using a pistol.
