With the vast amount of new content coming to Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, as shown in the beta, players won't be wanting for much. As the game not only features tons of new and returning weapons to take into battle but also a new Custom Class feature that lets you alter them as you see fit. But how do Custom classes work, and how do you unlock them?
Well, that's where our guide comes in, as we will show you exactly how to unlock and use/create the new Custom Classes feature coming to Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2. So without further delay, let's dive right in.
Custom Class Unlock & Creation - Modern Warfare 2 Beta
When you first start in Modern Warfare 2's beta, you won't be able to create a Custom Class immediately. To unlock the feature, you'll first need to reach Level 4 by playing any of the game modes.
After that, go to the Weapons tab in the main menu and select the class displayed in the bottom-left corner of the screen. You will then be able to create up to ten Custom Classes, though higher levels will be required to unlock more weapons and items.
Once unlocked, each class features a primary weapon, a secondary weapon, a lethal and tactical item, a Field Upgrade, and Perk Packages available to them. Unlike its predecessor, MW2's new Perk Package system allows you to have up to four perks — two at the start of the match and two more that can be activated later.

In addition, you can use the Gunsmith by hovering over each weapon in a given class. This feature is used to equip powerful attachments to your guns, and the new Receiver slot now allows you to add a unique feature from another gun.
There is also a selection of Killstreaks available in the Weapons tab, with 19 different Killstreaks available in the Modern Warfare 2 Beta, allowing players to use up to three of them at once. Last but not least, players should note that all your personalization, such as your custom classes, will carry over into the main game once it releases, so creating your favorite loadout in your custom class will be well worth your time.
