Season 2 of Call of Duty Warzone Pacific is here and we are eager to see how the second season since the merger of Warzone and Vanguard will be filled with new vehicles, weapons and map changes to refresh once again our gaming experience.
Along with other nice changes like fixing some bothering bugs for Season 2, we will enjoy the arrival of two brand new weapons to Caldera, the KG M40 assault rifle and the Withley light machine gun which should improve the available roster of weapons.
Although no additions were made to the SMG subsection, some of these guns will suffer modifications compared to Season 1 as per the Warzone Season 2 balance changes.
We know that by this point you may already have a set list of loadouts prepared but we encourage you to check out this SMG tier list and you may find a couple of surprises within.
Warzone Pacific S2 submachine gun tier list
As we already mentioned no base guns were added to the submachine gun section in Warzone Pacific but a couple of SMGs did suffer some nerfing for Season 2.
Particularly, we are talking about the Welgun SMG and the Type 100 SMG which both saw some alterations for this season which will be reflected in their ranking within our tier list.
The Type 100 SMG had its gun kick adjusted while the Welgun SMG was really downgraded as both its maximum damage range and its mid damage range were decreased at least 5% which may not seem much but it is really felt mid-match.
With that being said, let's go over all 28 submachine guns available in Caldera.
Description of the tiers
- S-Tier: The best of the best. Even with mediocre attachments, these guns are powerhouses that will blast enemies into smithereens.
- A-Tier: These weapons are incredibly powerful and may closely rival weapons in the S-Tier if paired with the right attachments.
- B-Tier: The middle of the pack ARs for Warzone Pacific. Using the perfect loadout allows you to compete with players boasting the A-Tier weapons. These are great for specific situations or playstyles.
- C-Tier: These ARs shouldn't be your primary weapon and should be used circumstantially with another weapon or require adept level skill to shine.
- D-Tier: This is labelled the "trash tier" weapons list. You should not include ARs in this tier in your loadout at all.
S-Tier
- Bullfrog
- MAC-10
- OTs 9
- MP-40
No surprises on the top tier as no modifications were made to any of these guns and of course, we do have frontrunners within the group.
Both the MAC-10 and the MP-40 offer us a really balanced combination of fire rate, effective TTK and range but we have to decant for the latter one as its base form is available right from the get-go even if it's just first time playing, which obviously allow you to get it to its top form quicker.
A-Tier
- PPSh-41
- PPSh-41 (Vanguard)
- Milano 821
- MP5 (CW)
- MP5 (MW)
- LC10
- MP7
- M1928
The first of our tier graduates is the PPSh-41 from the Vanguard title, which climbed from the B-tier.
We really needed to see the PPSh-41 perform in Caldera for the full season before we paired it with its Warzone homonym as it has proven that its effectiveness in close-to mid-range combat is very effective particularly if you happen to find one as loot when you begin a match.
B-Tier
- AK-74u
- Fennec
- Tec-9
- Owen Gun
This is the SMG limbo as these weapons will be rarely the “it” factor that could sway the outcome of a match, although the Fennec continues to offer the potential to escalate a couple of tiers with the right buffs.
The Owen Gun is another fan favourite that we are eager for to receive some buffs as it is a helpful weapon whenever you start a match but you never want it to be your key resource to be the last man standing.
C-Tier
- Uzi
- CX-9
- AUG
- P90
- PP19 Bizon
- Type 100
- Welgun
- Sten
We enter the realm of mediocrity, as all of these submachine guns are options that we would only choose if we were stuck with a 1911 handgun but other than that we would avoid them at all costs.
The Uzi is one of the weapons we never thought would be stuck in the lower tiers but we have received so many better options that it seems to fit better over here unless it receives some buffs in the future which seems highly unlikely.
D-Tier
- ISO SMG
- Nail Gun
- Striker 45
- KSP-45
If we are brutally honest about any of these weapons, we will tell you that just because we do this every season we would totally forget that any of these even exist.
The nail gun is a fun twist to frustrate players as no one want to see a replay of their demise to a hardware tool that you can find in your garage but other than that we promise you that you will never see a Warzone Victory banner across your screen while holding one of these.
And that's it, we've come to the end of our submachine gun tier list for Warzone Pacific Season 2. As we continue playing the different playlists, we will make sure to adjust as needed, especially when it comes to Vanguard guns.
