Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Beta introduces tons of new mechanics, ranging from a new Gunsmith system to new movement mechanics that will make the game more engaging. In particular, the new Ledge Hang mechanic gives players more strategic and tactical options.
Ledge Hanging is a new feature in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 that allows players to grab onto ledges slightly higher than their heads, allowing players to scout, ambush or escape from foes. This guide will detail everything about the new feature, including how to execute and use it in Modern Warfare 2.
How To Hang Off A Ledge In Modern Warfare 2
Using the Ledge Hang mechanic will result in your character drawing their pistol sidearm (if you have one equipped) and allowing you to aim and shoot over the top of the Ledge you are grabbing in Modern Warfare 2.

If you don't have a pistol sidearm, you can still grab and peek over the wall, but you won't be able to shoot. Still, this mechanic provides you with some tactical advantages, as you can call out the opposing team by peaking over the wall and gaining intel for your team.
Approaching a wall and looking at the icon that appears will allow you to determine which Ledges to grab onto in Modern Warfare 2. Normally, you would see an arrow indicating that you can mantle over cover by pressing the jump button.
However, with the Ledge Hang mechanic, you'll see a new prompt instructing you to use the jump button while depicting a person grabbing onto a Ledge. This will give you a quick indication regarding which walls you can Ledge Hang onto in the game.
This mechanic gives you a new way to scout, ambush, and escape enemies when the situation calls for it. So getting used to this mechanic will be vital to gaining a tactical advantage over your enemies once the full release of Modern Warfare 2 drops in November 2022.
