Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will officially feature a Third-Person mode with its global release on 28th October 2022. In addition to the slew of new features like the new Gunsmith system, the Third-person mode offers a change of perspective that could change the way you play.
This guide will detail everything you need to know about the new Third-person mode in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, including on which Playlists the feature will be available and how you can change the settings.
How Will Third-Person Mode Work In Modern Warfare 2?
The first-person shooter (FPS) game Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will include a new feature where you can change your perspective to Third-person.
Most importantly, Third-person mode will only be enabled on dedicated Playlists; those that aren't explicitly labeled will be exclusively playable in First-Person mode.
Some of the Playlists available in Modern Warfare 2 include public Multiplayer Playlists, private Multiplayer lobbies, and Co-Op.

Another thing to note is that the camera will be set a few feet away from your Operator in Third-person mode, giving you a wider view of your surroundings. The default view will be over the right shoulder.
While First-person mode allows you to see the distance of your enemies, Third-person will let you see enemies from your peripheral vision, potentially offering you some advantage.
Additionally, you can change camera settings and perspective switches when playing in Third-person mode in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.
How To Change 3rd Person Camera In Modern Warfare 2
You can adjust your Third-Person Field of View (FOV) and Camera Movement in the View Tab within the Graphics submenu. Notably, players should note three key differences when using Perspective Switches.
The first is shoulder swapping. As previously mentioned, the default view will be over the right shoulder. To change perspective, you can push down the analog stick on your controller or the appropriate key on your mouse and keyboard.
Secondly, when Aiming Down Sight (ADS), your perspective will automatically switch back to first-person for an accurate shot. Lastly, zooming will be automatic whenever your camera is moved; the same applies to crosshair placement in the middle of the screen.
However, if you are behind an object like a wall, you will occasionally get a separate crosshair in front of that object. This change allows you to see where the bullet will go if you fired your weapon while being pressed near an object.
That's everything about the new Third-person Mode in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.
