When figuring out which assault rifle is the best to use in Call of Duty: Vanguard, many players will drift towards the STG 44 or the BAR. These were two of the best rifles in COD: WWII and certainly boasted the most clout. These weapons are also ranked fairly high on our COD Vanguard assault rifle tier list. There is one rifle that fans seem to be overlooked, however, and that’s the Volk.
The Volk also hails from WWII but was a DLC weapon and was thus not in the base game. Nevertheless, it packed a punch in 2017 and it still does in the COD Vanguard beta. Although Sledgehammer Games may likely change things before the official launch on 5th November, the Volk is a dark horse in the AR category. So, here's the best loadout for the beta Volk for COD Vanguard that will really make this weapon shine.
Best Volk loadout in COD Vanguard beta
The main reason why the Volk is underrated is because of the level required to unlock it. Players can only unlock it once they have reached level 30, which is the current level cap for COD Vanguard beta. Players that do manage to unlock it, however, soon discover how dominant the Volk can be.
The Volk is best used in close to medium combat. It differs from the STG as it has a faster fire rate and is comparable to an SMG/AR hybrid. The best loadout for the Volk reflects this play style.
- Muzzle: G28 Compensator
- Barrel: Krausnick 428MM 05V
- Optic: Slate Reflector
- Stock: VDD 27 Precision
- Underbarrel: Carver Foregrip
- Ammo Type: Frangible
- Rear Grip: Leather Grip
- Proficiency: Steady
- Kit:Fast Melee
The main goal of this loadout is to use some accuracy-boosting attachments, like the G28 Compensator, Carver Foregrip and Krausnick 428MM 05VBarrel to help balance the Volk’s natural ability at close range. With those attachments in place, you can have success at both medium and long-range engagements, while also dominating up close.
You will need some extra attachments to ensure that an MP40 doesn’t get the best of you every time. That’s where the Leather Grip and Fast Melee attachments come in. The former increases ADS speed and the latter gives you a faster shot to melee an opponent that’s too close to shoot right away.
Finally, the last couple of attachments act to support the Volk in a variety of situations. Steady provides some aiming stability and the Frangible Ammo Type gives extra damaging shots to help finish off enemies.
Until COD Vanguard officially releases, this is the best Volk loadout to use in the beta.
