The M1928 or Thompon submachine gun ("Tommy Gun") is a solid choice to shred enemies in Call of Duty: Vanguard. The gun is perfect for close-range combat and is best matched with players that have aggressive playstyles.
The M1928 is mentioned in our A-tier list of submachine guns alongside the Owen Gun, and while some may argue that M1928 doesn't quite rival the MP-40, pairing it with the right attachments may just convince you otherwise. So, with that said, here's the best M1928 gunsmith class setup at the launch of COD Vanguard.
Best M1928 class setup for COD Vanguard
The M1928 or Tommy gun has one of the highest fire rates in the game and boasts solid recoil. This loadout optimises the M1928 for close-quarters combat.
We've followed the attachment build guide by YouTuber Paradox for this M1928 loadout.
- Muzzle: G28 Compensator
- Barrel: CGC 12" Cooling
- Optic: Large Ironsights
- Stock: Ragdoll T2 Support
- Underbarrel: Carver Foregrip
- Magazine: 9mm 50 Rnd Drum Mag
- Ammo Type: FMJ Rounds
- Rear Grip: Pine Tar Grip
- Proficiency: Sleight of Hand
- Kit: Surplus
The first attachment is the G28 Compensator to improve recoil control. We've also gone with the CGC 12" Cooling Barrel for enhanced stability when firing. This attachment will also reduce scope sway and gun bobbing when using a scope.
Next, we've attached the Carver Foregrip Underbarrel to improve recoil control and hip-fire accuracy at the minor expense of ADS speed.
We've equipped the 9mm 50 Rnd Drum Mag for the magazine, which uses smaller calibre rounds for increased recoil control and mobility. It also offers concealment while firing, in addition to improved ADS speed, fire rate, and aiming accuracy.
We'll couple this with FMJ Rounds for improved bullet penetration through surfaces.
Followingly, we've gone with the Pine Tar Grip for easier handling of the M1928 when fired from the hip by further buffing recoil control and hip-fire accuracy.
You can then attach the Large Ironsight to improve ADS speed and the Ragdoll T2 Support Stock to improve recoil control, accuracy, recoil recovery, and flinch resistance.
The last two attachments are the Sleight of Hand Perk to improve reload speed and the Surplus Kit to get additional XP when killing enemies.

And that's it! Do you disagree with this loadout? Great, we don't care. But, if you want something else to be disappointed about, then be sure to check the article below.
