Sniping has always been an aspect of the meta in Call of Duty: Warzone and that remains the same in Season 5.
However, the traditional snipers of the game have been replaced by quick scoping marksman rifles in recent seasons. The Kar98k and Swiss K31 are now at the top of the meta, with guns like the HDR and LW3 Tundra moving to the second tier.
Although, this doesn’t mean that players should completely give up on using these kinds of snipers. In fact, for players who like to stay at long range, these snipers, more specifically the HDR, are the best options. Players who want to utilize the HDR, the best long-range sniper, can look at its best loadout below.
Best HDR loadout for Warzone Season 5
The HDR is much clunkier than something like the Swiss K31, so players will have to make do with attachments that increase damage range and boost its long-range capabilities.
-
Muzzle: Monolithic Suppressor
-
Barrel: 26.9″ HDR Pro
-
Laser: Tac Laser
-
Optic: Variable Scope Zoom
-
Magazine: 9 Round Mags
This loadout starts the way many Modern Warfare weapon loadouts do, with the Monolithic Suppressor. This top-tier attachment silences the HDR while also increasing damage range and improving recoil.
Next is the 26.9” HDR Pro barrel, which boosts the HDR’s damage and damage range. This attachment comes in handy when firing at enemies from over 50-75 meters. The barrel allows you to not have to hit a headshot to take an enemy down in one shot.
The Tac Laser is the one attachment on this loadout that improves mobility. It increases ADS time for any time you need to snap onto a target in close to medium range. However, it does have a laser that enemies can see, so be careful when you equip the HDR.
For an optic, we’ve gone with the Variable Scope Zoom for some extra flexibility. You can use the farthest zoomed magnification for those cross-map shots and then turn to the lowest zoomed magnification for an enemy that’s right in front of you.
Finally, the 9 Round Mags are equipped to give players more bullets in the clip, reducing the need to reload after a few shots.

That’s the best HDR loadout for Season 5 of Warzone. If you’re a slower player that likes traditional sniping, this loadout is made for you.
