With Activision’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 on the way, the company’s already revealed tons of information about the game during its COD: Next Showcase Event. One feature that’s had fans giddy and elated to relish as much Modern Warfare 2 as possible is Killstreaks. This guide details all the Killstreaks players can equip and grind out in matches and unleash on their enemies. Find out all you need to know about the mechanic below.
COD Modern Warfare 2 - All Killstreaks & Scorestreaks
Bridging the gap for players between skill and newly-acquired experience are Killstreaks and Scorestreaks. The difference between both mechanics is that Killstreaks require players to continuously kill enemies without dying, which might be harder for newcomers.

On the other hand, Scorestreaks require players to continue playing the objective, earning assists, using Field Upgrades effectively and performing other actions in-match, which is easier to do.
But you can only earn one of the two at a time in Call of Duty, so newer players are recommended to use Scorestreaks, while veterans should find Killstreaks fairly easy to acquire. Here are all the streak rewards you can earn in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.
UAV (4 Kills or 500 Score)
-
The UAV is a drone that periodically reveals enemy players' whereabouts on the mini-map.
Bomb Drone (4 Kills or 500 Score)
-
The Bomb Drone is an Operator-controlled explosive drone that can be flown anywhere within the period while using it and detonate the C4 attached to it.
Counter-UAV (5 Kills or 625 Score)
-
As the name goes, the Counter-UAV counters opposing enemy’s UAV drones and other tools that survey the mini-map.
Care Package (5 Kills or 625 Score)
-
The Care Package is a little loot drop that descends from the sky and provides a random item or tool that players can use.
Cluster Mine (5 Kills or 625 Score)
-
Upgrading Claymores and taking it to the next level is the Cluster Mine. It functions like a proximity mine but does the damage of four Claymores combined.
Precision Airstrike (6 Kills or 750 Score)
-
The Precision Airstrike allows players to choose a designated area for jets to swoop down, unleashing flurries of bombs in the chosen place.
Cruise Missile (6 Kills or 750 Score)
-
Another classic tool is the Cruise Missile, a missile that can be controlled using a tablet and steered wherever necessary to obliterate players’ foes.
Mortar Strike (6 Kills or 750 Score)
-
Upon activation, a player pulls out a laser pointer to mark any position for several artillery shells to pepper a circular zone in an explosive barrage.
S.A.E. (7 Kills or 875 Score)
-
The S.A.E. is like a super Precision Airstrike, as it has an additional jet and the ability to control the path of each strike.
Sentry Gun (7 Kills or 875 Score)
-
The Sentry Gun is an automatic jet with a machine gun that unloads shells of bullets at any detected enemy in its path.
VTOL Jet (8 Kills or 1,000 Score)
-
After calling it in to strike a specific area using a tablet, the VTOL Jet will drop two sets of bombs. Then, the jet patrols an area and continues unleashing barrages of bullets.
Overwatch Helo (8 Kills or 1,000 Score)
-
The Overwatch Helo is similar to The VTOL Jet but follows players' Operators' in-air and alerts of any enemy and fires back at them.
Wheelson-HS (8 Kills or 1,000 Score)
-
The Wheelson-HS is a moveable sentry with various offensive and aquatic capabilities. It can be piloted using a tablet or set to automatic mode to kill opponents.
Stealth Bomber (10 Kills or 1,250 Score)
-
Upon activation, a player can call in a rain of shells from above with no additional guidance needed via the Stealth Bomber. The explosive barrage from the Stealth Bomber is enough to rattle an entire team.
Chopper Gunner (10 Kills or 1,250 Score)
-
Fly high in the sky and unshell bullets at your enemies using the Chopper Gunner, a helicopter you can ride and use to kill your foes.
Emergency Airdrop (10 Kills or 1,250 Score)
-
Essentially, a Care Package but times by three.
Gunship (12 Kills or 1,500 Score)
-
The Gunship is the most powerful airborne controlled vehicle of destruction players can use. It’s equipped with various armaments and a built-in Thermal Sight to make hunting down enemies all the easier.
Advanced UAV (12 Kills or 1,500 Score)
-
The Advanced UAV functions similarly to a UAV but tells players the direction of an enemy’s pathing. It’s the best tool for reconnaissance.
Juggernaut (15 Kills or 1,875 Score)
-
The Juggernaut is the strongest ground-based streak players can use. It essentially provides a suit of metal-clad armor and a minigun that together makes for the perfect form of destruction and protection.
And that’s all there is to it. Feel free to try this streak rewards out once Modern Warfare 2 officially launches on 28th October 2022.
