Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies offers players an intense and thrilling experience as they battle hordes of the undead. While undeniably fun, it’s far from an easy mode - especially for newcomers attempting to survive the higher rounds.

Fortunately, the developers have introduced Directed Mode, a feature that lets players enjoy everything Zombies offers without the grind or chaos. So let’s dive into the details of this mode and discuss how it can make your Black Ops 6 Zombies experience a bit more manageable.

What Is Directed Mode In Black Ops 6 Zombies?

With the launch of Season 1, Black Ops 6 introduced Directed Mode for the Zombies experience, which essentially functions as a "guided mode" for the standard Zombies gameplay. With this mode enabled, there will be a restriction on the game’s overall difficulty (though not too much) as well as step-by-step instructions to help players complete a map’s Easter Egg quest.

This is a great feature for new players, especially solo players, who want to experience all the Easter eggs and details the mode has to offer without the frustration of grinding and spending hours to improve (time that many of us don't have). With Directed Mode enabled, you can complete all the Easter eggs on each map with ease.

Marked objectives that guide players to complete the Main Quest are immediately visible from round one, giving you clear goals to pursue. The difficulty also caps at round 15, preventing the experience from becoming too challenging.

S.A.M trials and minor Easter effects are disabled in this mode, allowing players to focus solely on the main quests and grand Easter eggs. This is helpful for new players as the map icons, zombies, and clues can be overwhelming. With Directed Mode, they can access everything the game has to offer, from its unique themed rewards to powerful weapons like the Ray Gun skin for Liberty Falls.

While Directed Mode is a big help for many players, some are concerned that it may make the game too easy. Thankfully, Treyarch is balancing things carefully. Not only will Directed Mode not offer all the same rewards as traditional Zombies Mode, but it also won’t be available immediately for every new zombie map.

More to come on Directed Mode
While there will be a slight delay to avoid spoilers, Directed mode will be released for each of the new Black Ops 6 Zombies maps in the future. (Picture: Activision)

There will be a waiting period between the release of a new map and the activation of Directed Mode, allowing hardcore players the chance to experience the Easter eggs blind at first, without spoilers.

This ensures that Zombies caters to both types of players: the hardcore veterans and the more casual newcomers who just want to have fun mowing down zombies with ease. Whether you prefer a guided experience in Directed Mode or the challenge of classic Zombies mode, Black Ops 6 has something for everyone.
