Vampire The Masquerade Bloodhunt from developer Sharkmob is releasing for PS5 and PC on 27th April 2022. While PC gamers have had several months of Early Access, this will be the first time PS5 owners get to experience this unique, free-to-play battle royale. With the game releasing on two platforms, fans might be wondering if Vampire The Masquerade Bloodhunt features any type of crossplay and if there are any caveats.
In this article, we explain if Vampire The Masquerade Bloodhunt has a crossplay feature and if you can group up with others on a different platform.
Vampire The Masquerade Bloodhunt PC and PS5 crossplay
First up, we are happy to report that Vampire THe Masquerade Bloodhunt does, indeed, feature crossplay functionality between PC and PS5.

- Sony and KIRKBI invest $2 billion to build Epic Games' Metaverse
- Warhammer 40K Chaos Gate - Release date, gameplay, and trailer
The game's crossplay feature allows for a unified player base, which will, in theory, make matchmaking times faster.
Crossplay is, essentially, the ability to play with others from another platform. In the case of Vampire The Masquerade Bloodhunt, this means PC and PS5 gamers can encounter each other in Prague as they fight for survival.
There is a caveat, however, as crossplay in Vampire The Masquerade Bloodhunt only happens once players enter the Prague map. You will, therefore, be able to encounter players from other platforms.
However, The Elysium (in-game lobby) is platform-specific. This means you can't group up with players from other platforms inside the Elysium.
Balance between PC and PS5 Vampire Bloodhunt players
With crossplay, there's always a concern that one of the platforms might have an advantage, for example, the PC's mouse and keyboard input versus controller input.
The developers have addressed these concerns in the post about Vampire Bloodhunt's crossplay functionality, noting improvements for gamepad support.
Sharkmob explains: "With the improvements that we have done for gamepad support, we hope that the balance between the two input methods are closer to each other. We will evaluate and keep tweaking the settings based on your feedback and the data that we see.
"Crossplay will also allow us to essentially expand the player base further, especially in regions where we have seen a lower player population in the past. More players also mean a higher chance of adding more game modes in the future, as those additions are dependent on a large number of concurrent players."
