With the release of the Aberration DLC map for ARK: Survival Ascended, many players have eagerly dived into the challenges of this fractured ARK to discover its new content. While exploring can be thrilling, you might encounter some performance issues.

This is expected, as the map has just been launched and may not be fully optimized. If you're facing performance problems, keep reading. We'll explore several console command options that can help improve your performance in ARK: Survival Ascended Aberration.

How To Get Better Performance In ASA Aberration

At the time of writing, many players are experiencing significant performance issues with Aberration for ARK: Survival Ascended, including problems such as dropped frames, stuttering, and unattractive textures. Fortunately, there are several steps you can take to adjust your settings and improve performance.

Better Performance Using In game settings

First, we recommend tweaking your in-game graphics and video settings through the main menu. In the Video tab, you can limit your PC's rendering speed by setting a frame rate cap and, if available, lower the DLSS quality.

Next, go to the Graphics tab and turn off several settings, including Motion Blur, Light Bloom, Light Shafts, and Low-Light Enhancement. With these features disabled, set your graphics preset to Medium. From there, you can incrementally adjust certain settings to see what your system can handle comfortably.

Aberration Console Commands For Better Performance

Lastly, you have the option to use console commands to disable specific features and potentially gain some performance improvements. Be aware that turning off these features may affect the visual quality of the game, so be prepared for some trade-offs between performance and aesthetics.

Here are the console commands we recommend for improving performance in Aberration:

  • r.fog 0
  • r.volumetricfog 0
  • r.volumetriccloud 0
  • grass.sizescale 0
  • r.water.singlelayer.reflection 0
  • r.shadowquality 0
  • r.shadow.virtual.enable 0
  • r.nanite.maxpixelsperedge 4
  • ark.convertgroundclutter 0
  • r.dynamicglocalilluminationmethod 0
  • gamma 2
  • r.lumen.diffuseindirect.allow 0
  • r.lightshaftquality 0

We suggest testing each of these commands individually to observe their effects on both game performance and visual quality. You might not need to apply all of them to achieve the best results. Ultimately, finding the right balance of settings will require some experimentation, but with careful tweaking, you should be able to enhance your performance in ARK: Survival Ascended Aberration.
