ARK: Survival Ascended has seen several DLC releases since its initial launch in 2023, but until now, they’ve all been remakes of expansions from ARK: Survival Evolved. That’s why it’s especially exciting to see ARK: Survival Ascended announce its very first original DLC expansion, Lost Colony. If you share our excitement, keep reading to find out everything we know so far about this brand-new expansion for ASA.
Lost Colony: The First DLC Expansion for ARK: Survival Ascended, and It Looks Massive
As revealed in a recent teaser trailer and Steam page update, ARK: Survival Ascended – Lost Colony will be the first DLC expansion for ASA. This expansion follows heroine Mei Yin—voiced by Everything Everywhere All At Once star Michelle Yeoh—as she explores a mysterious new world in search of hidden secrets. This expansion will also serve as a bridge between the worlds of Ark and Ark 2, giving us more details about the sequel announced back in 2020.
To sweeten the deal, Studio Wildcard has announced that players who pre-order the expansion will receive “exclusive gameplay preview content” immediately after purchase. And from what’s been revealed so far, Lost Colony is shaping up to be packed with content.
Not only will the expansion feature multiple animated story sequences created by Studio MAPPA—renowned for Attack on Titan, Jujutsu Kaisen, and Chainsaw Man—but it also embraces a unique gothic, almost vampiric theme. This setting is likely filled with hidden lore, new items, and, of course, powerful new creatures to discover.
As of now, there is no official release date for Lost Colony, but Wildcard has confirmed it is expected to launch in November 2025. While there’s still some time to go before its release, we’ll be sure to keep you updated with the latest news, details, and the highly anticipated launch date for ARK: Survival Ascended – Lost Colony.
